Well, first off, sorry for the large delay, had some major issues with my system (hardware) and both CPU and motherboard manufacturers wanted their products back (not at the same time), so I was without a proper working machine for a few months, though being an I.T., most of my time got ripped away from getting my own system up due to customers wanting theirs up first (which is natural). Anyhow, 1.40 is up, working and when the Anti-Virus here clears it, ready for download.

What is new, check the readme, it's pretty exhausting, but the most part of what I did was to make the "lag" striken games (which I deliberately did to mine) usable with this mod, as in it survives even the hardened laggy games based on too many mods (I have over 200 at the moment).

Changes people will complain about right away, will be the "Save, Die, Reload" on every game playthrough you had with 1.39 or lower. This was done to halt all the run-away scripts and ensures you'll have a proper working save after (with respect to this mod). I could have said "Mod disabled, reload to enable", but that was a less than perfect idea, because you had to save first. So for those starting 1.40 for the first time, just wait for the death and reload, then you'll be fine.

The next thing people will complain about is that Guards *HATE* vampires (wait, what, noooo, can't be, vanilla guards hate vanilla vampires, who knew)! So what has happened is, the mod has gotten proper configuration of the reactions for vampires with respect to vanilla vampires, guards simply don't like them and vice-versa. If your "teeth" are out (hiss sound), you're just like those vanilla vampires, guards won't like you (this is the improved immersion). The same rule applies when going into areas where you have to do a quest that the mod *disables* itself so you can, merely sneak in and wait for the notification that your "teeth" aren't out and the guards will not hate you anymore. This will make regular playthrough harder because the guards will constantly want you dead, but a smart vampire knows how to avoid that situation.

A new global was added called "Angry", means that you and other vampires (you've told to act like one) can be "Angry" towards non-vampire people (not children, they're just not people).

A quick and simple menu was added to toggle the existing and new Globals so you don't have to type out the settings (it's a new Power).

And everyone is probably going to ask: When will this get to Special Edition? Answer is, as soon as I have time to do so, hopefully before my large installation and work of another studio, which will take a ton of my time away from me, so hopefully before the end of March.

Version 1.41 is now up, fixes the player ref issue that some people were having with previous save games, plus the "save and die" is now "save and stop", where the mod stops most of it's scripts and disables the dialogues, then saves, then says "reload to continue". This removes the repeated save/die loop.

    Hello!
Is it possible to make it so that only vampires consider you their friend, and not all the undead in Skyrim?

    Respectfully,

Sadly, no, the undead faction was not changed, vampires in the game are friendly to undeads, which is why that is the case for the player, it's built into the game.  But it means they're friends, doesn't mean smacking them a bunch of times is going to make them happy about it.

This mod adds you to the same vampire faction (and not the player faction) as other vampires, so if people don't attack you, they won't attack regular vampires, but if your group does, they'll hate you too (because you're one of them).

The game really wasn't setup for proper behaviors with respect to enemies, you can't flag the player as good or evil and go with that and since relationships cannot be changed in-game, I can't make that happen either, like turning someone's wife into a vampire and letting her go home, well, she'd want to eat/turn her husband and family, but since the relationship can't be altered, she still loves them.

I play through on Dawnguard all the time. There are spots where you have to fight in Dawnguard and those are the times it will auto-disable. I've put auto-offs in on certain quest places to avoid issues with those quests.

I'm still in the process of getting the newest version up (1.40), but no changes were made to the quests, since I've gone through the quests that can be broken and played them numerous times without issues.

This totally broke Dawnguard for me, cant even get the quest started as they'll just attack me at the start (the vampire hunters, since they see im a vampire apparently). Uninstalling WITH the instructions and then disabling the mod also didn't help. So there a way to manually change player faction...?
EDIT: There is, apparently type in console: player.removefac 000272242
And you'll be removed from the vampire faction.
I'll see if I can re-enable the mod again once I finish the introductory quests..

Vampire hunters? Sounds to me like that is another mod, not entirely sure what issues you're having, what mods are you using? Because I've heavily tested this and none of the Dawnguard parts don't work, it *will* tell you to leave your group behind, other than that, I've not seen any issues.

Hello, I was wondering if there was a way around the fact that since the player's faction changes to "undead", all of the player homes and chests now do not properly belong to the player. It would be really helpful since I'm using Sacrosanct and one of the effects of trespassing in a home is losing all my Magicka and Stamina gradually; and since I can no longer safely store items inside my home in Whiterun for example.

Furthermore, upon trying to uninstall the mod to launch it again from zero, I realised the "_" symbol can not be typed into my console for the "set GSR_FriendlyVampiresQuit to 1" console command. Is there any other way to uninstall the mod?

Thank you in advance and hats off for such a great mod!

Odd, not entirely sure why you cannot type the "_" symbol, are you using a virtual keyboard with the game and a controller? I just tried and am quite able to type the item in exactly as it's shown and it indeed works. As for the player home issue, it will detect homes with parent realms of the PlayerFaction and attempt to include the Vampire Faction into it, but if not, you will be unable to notice. Perhaps ask Sacrosanct's author(s) to contact me, and perhaps we can come up with something to make them work better together as the issue isn't 100% with my mod, but with how homes are created, all vanilla homes should work properly.

My workload has eased up some as of late, letting me time to catch up on some of my projects, after writing "real life code", I can spend some time on the hobby side, which is modding. I've gotten the new system for controlling the followers better off, though having a bit of an inconsistency with the new "fangs" code, which is causing issues, which I plan to iron out before I set 1.40 out as ready, then I'll start my porting of the mods that will jump over to SE.

    Hey
so turns out this mod requires immersivedawnguards.esp or it gets a ctd checked through the papyrus logs, now the problem is that is the immersive patrols mod and the author now uses a merged esp called immersivepatrolsII.esp could you possibly remove this dependancy please and also hope to see 1.40 soon :) many thanks

This mod doesn't require immersivedawnguards.esp, it has no knowledge of any of those mods. It works with a minimum of stock Skyrim.

Just a note to let everyone know that 1.40 is progressing. I've gotten a lot of code moved, rewritten and abbreviated enough to do some more testing, there is still some reduction of workload I want to spread out more to improve the performance and to increase the responsiveness. I have been doing extensive testing in methods on which to test for surrounding NPCs, though with the workload of other scripts from other mods, it makes it difficult to guarantee results are within a specific time, was actually seeing 2 second delays, but what I am doing now is trying to spread functions out over wider area of scripts to shorten and even slow their time usage to reduce overall workload of the mod while still maintaining functionality. So testing is going to be slow on this, but once I have 1.40 up and running, I'll be doing a mass port of what mods I can port over to Special Edition, this being one of them, once I get the SKSE for Special Edition.

    Hi.

Would it be beyond the realms of possibility to tweak the NPC vampires' idling comments? It's a little immersion-breaking to have many of them talk to you as if you're just some punk, especially when you're an extremely powerful vampire lord.

I'd have a go at it myself (if possible), but to be honest, I wouldn't even know where to begin.

    Thanks.

I've been asked that a few times, but sadly, the vampire conversations would be better asked of the author of your main vampire experience mod (Vampiric Thirst, Better Vampires, etc), as they'd be the ones who'd properly mod that, as if I mod it, it would cause conflicts with those mods and I don't want to cause any conflicts as there are none now!

I'm hearing a bunch of weird sudden sounds since installing this mod? I don't know what they mean but they're loud and sudden and scare me/hurt my ears. There's other issue, too. I was clearing a bandit fort and they suddenly all stopped attacking me once I killed two of them. Animals attack me for a second and then stop. And now I am "stealing" my own horse.

The noises are explained in the Description as are settings to turn them off, the Files section has quieter versions.

As an Vampire, you are not a "Player", so your human stuff will be considered theft. 1.40 will help with that.
