For this mod, I did 4 things to the mining sounds:
1) Deepened the pitch 2) Increased the bass 3) Made the initial contact with rock quieter 4) Made the entire sound slightly quieter
It's no work of art, but it has reduced how much my ears bleed when mining. I made a short comparison video so you can see if you want to change or not.
