I'm mostly confident this new version is stable. There's one issue with the duties quest that's nearly impossible to deal with because I'm tapping into the games random sandbox, but I did a workaround by putting in a dialogue option for [something is wrong, restart quest] you can use this also if you just plain don't like the objective and want a new one, without penalty.

I was really eager to share what I've been enjoying the past few months, so if there's any problems I've overlooked, please let me know.

Hope you have as much fun with it as I have, and thanks to everyone. (if anyone is still even here lol)

Would you give open permissions to port the mod to SE then?   :)

Oh yes, that permission has always been open. There's been trouble with it over the years. My only thing with this mod is that nothing is added or changed. And really at this point that's more a courtesy I ask.

Just let me know if you do so I can add it to this page.

      perfect, thanks!   :)

Don't know if I personally will do it but it's important for all of us to know what are your thoughts on the matter   :)

Maybe you can pin this discussion?

Done. And might as well put this ol boy here too:

I have left it to the discretion of other users to port alternate versions of the mod to respective versions of the game on the conditions that

      a) I am made aware of the port and the ports location

      b) No additional port is to be made if one already exists that I have been made aware of(unless existing port is obsolete.)

A link will be provided in the description page once it is made known to me that a port has been created.
  3. Some quests send me to pick sides in random battles and take orders from Stormcloak orders even before I joined either the Legion or the Stormcloaks.
The same quests still require that I get clues regarding targets from Stormcloak officers settled in bandits-controlled forts, after I talked to Rikke and joined the Imperial Legion.

Whatever this mess is, I wouldn't call it a functional mod. OK let's get rid of it.

I'm interested in a more specific description of the problems you're encountering. There's probably a very easy fix for this if I knew more about what's going on there in your specific game.

Feel free to PM, and thank you for making your issue known. 👍

yw. Always good to see some diehards are still here.

let me know if there's any issues. Honestly I made myself sick of running the whole system through playthroughs of the system for both sides after doing it about 4 times.

As it is apparently up to individual mod users to port this mod into SE/AE format for themselves, would anyone care to spell out in the simplest way, the instructions for doing so?

    Thanks.

Thank you for checking back to update this awesome mod. will these new changes make it incompatible with open civil war? Also is that change to make Civil war reoccuring sieges push the civil war quest forward the only change between this new version and the old version? thanks again

It is the main change, but I've also tweaked a lot of things that have been aggravating me for years. The other big change is how you choose your degree of immersion in the civil war from the three choices On init. You can have it be a passive thing like vanilla(old version) make it so that you have mandatory participation to earn some freedom, or have things trigger from the start, but still remain somewhat passive.

Wow. I've never had the desire to join the Legion until now. Going to give it whirl, as I just started a new playthrough. Reading the description and coments..can't wait for what the Stormcloak side brings.

    Thanks for updating.

Emm...Seems this time,CWRS has touched Vanllia Quests. It need more tests to see the compability with Civil War Overhaul-Rudux or Open Civil War.

I have read your stick post that you have no interest on SSE.

To my personal,With the help of 64-bit and Meh's Actor Limit Fix.SSE is more near to Immersive War Experience to me.

CWO-rudux or OCW for make vanilla CW Quest dynamic(even lose the war in CWO),

Warzone and Immersive Patrols to make the war really happen in Skyrim. (These two can work with CWO or OCW in my tests)

CWRS to make the CW quests more diversity.

It should be an excited combine.

I really have no idea how it runs with those, never tried them honestly. And yeah I broke my long standing principle of never mucking around with vanilla for this version, which is strange because the incursion was for the purposes of bypassing the vanilla fetch quests leading into the fort battles. They always annoyed me so I decided to bypass them. So the vanilla edits are minimal.

Let me know how it is for compatibility with the others. Very interesting.

      Well,I checked CWRS's file today.

SSedit shows CWRS did not edit vanilla quests, that's good, please keep.

MO2 shows CWRS edits some vanilla scripts the same as CWO.

So,I guees CWRS 3.0 cannot work well with CWO-RUDUX.Because CWO touch vanilla fort sieges to make it losable.

However,CWRS 3.0 may work well with Current latesst version of Open Civil War.They don't be told about edit same things.

Hmm, well, the good news there is that the basic function of CWRS will still work alongside the other civil war mods(because none of that touches vanilla therefore cannot be edited by other mods). However, the edits I have made to actually advance the vanilla civil war may or may not run into problems.

Takeaway: People -should- still be able to enjoy all the new features I put in 3.0, but may not be able to utilize what I did to advance the Civil war with CWRS. The conclusion here may be to assign CWO after CWRS in load order so people may enjoy functionality of both mods. Nothing lost here, because how CWO advances the Civil war is far more dynamic than how I have done it.

Invaluable information--thank you. I'm looking forward to seeing if my little hypothesis above is correct, as people give more feedback on their experiences. This may lead to the creation of a patch .esp for CWO if its main file is an ESM. Won't be necessary if CWO's main file is a .esp, or if it is using loose .pex files. We'll see how it all goes.

I'm a Chinese,my English is bad.So I need a long free time to understand new version.(Such as Translate before deeply playing.)

I just a did a little quick test with Open Civil War.I'm curioisty how you advance the vanilla Civil War quests.

What I get in my latest small test is vanilla Siege Start Autoly with CWRS when I need control Riften as Imperial.

Is that your way to advance CW Quests? In vanilla game setting,as long as Fort be captured, the hold as be owned.

It seems that CWRS help me to skip some vanilla quests,in vaniilla game, player usually need do 1 radiant quest+1 fort quest.

With CWRS,the siege may start autoly, and player can own this hold with only 1 quest, right?

"It seems that CWRS help me to skip some vanilla quests,in vaniilla game, player usually need do 1 radiant quest+1 fort quest."

Yes, that is the idea. I have eliminated each of the radiant quest before each fort battle. I have replaced these with a 'progress counter' that looks at your activities within CWRS events. This way you can straight grind your way through CWRS events to progress the war.

Maybe I can understand  that CWRS V2 is Civil War Add-on,and CWRS V3 more like a light-weight vanilla Civil War Overhaul.

      CWRS v3.0 is light-weight,
      Open Civil War is mid-weight.
Civil War Overhaul is heavy-weight.(To this mod,I only recommand the Rudux Version in SSE,old Version is so buggy.
      Interesting

In General,I love you V3.0,my game need it.Beacuse as a civil war mod fan.I have tried almost every useful Civil War mods.I'm bothered at vaniila radiant quests.(Which need me spend a lot of time but cannot teamfight)

BTW,did you have a compared to vanilla Civil War,CWRS will make it longer or shorter?

Depends on which option you pick. "Full Time soldier" makes it about the same probably. "Part Time soldier" would make it longer to complete.

I wasn't expecting it either really. Then I loaded up Skyrim ohh.. back in September, played this again and realized there was about a thousand things I still wanted to do with it, then the madness began again.
