    VERSION 3.0:
The interior has been overhauled and now includes a basement. The porch has also been rearranged to make it feel cozier. Overall it should be a better layout without adding too much.

I've also added a new version for Real Shelter so you can relax out on your porch even when it's raining.

Just a G.E.M mod. A simple cottage, that provide what should be at house nothing more.
Just cant believe that this mod is criminaly underrated

This looks really nice. Going to try it since I could use an early house, and having to clear the mine to get it seems fair enough to me.

Just as a note: wouldn't it make more sense for this cottage to have limited crafting stuff that is thematically appropriate for the owner (or worker) of a mine? In this case it would be a smelter (of course - how else would you smelt the ore you mine?), an anvil and grindstone (pickaxes need to be forged and maintained, after all), and MAYBE an alchemic stand (mines are often full of poisonous gas and the like, and there's the odd frostbite spider or two, knowing how to make healing potions helps). An enchanting table seems out of place (how many rough and tumble miners would even know how to enchant?), as is the tanning rack (miner, not hunter! lol), although you can excuse the latter with 'need leather to patch up our clothes'.

Alternatively you could even do without the anvil since IIRC you can find a forge in Embershard mine. Though it'd get annoying having to kill a boatload of bandits every time it respawns and you need the stuff, but in order to mine you'd have to smite away anyway, and if you can't be bothered, Riverwood and Alvor's forge are nearby.

Just a few suggestions for even more immersion. Good call on no mannequins, btw.

Very beauty. Personally, I would change the music inside, otherwise it's wonderful. Endorsed

I am a big fan of Aurora Village and when I find a mod I like, which also adds something of substance to the game, I tend to seek out other mods by the same author. Of course anything in Whiterun and Falkreath Holds is a plus since I tend to favor these regions.

I'm not sure how I missed this cabin. It fits the flavor of Riverwood much better than the Hunter Cabins of Riverwood mods which seem to more reflect the architecture of Riften than Whiterun.

I already use the Farmhouse Chimneys mod so a plus there.

ok just came back to say thanks again as I've enjoyed the v1.0 for about since it came out but find you have a v2.0 does it need any process to upgrade other than overwrite the old with new?and a question I have if you plan to do more would you consider adding a basement ?? I mean it does sit up on a large foundation wall and would be easy to put in a "storm cellar" type outside access door and a drop down hatch inside a few beds and such for my many followers and a root cellar/pantry don't need so much blacksmithy stuff as Aldor is RIGHT out the door, and the smoke n mess that close would be a bit of a bother. AND
Thanks for a great home I mention the beds in the basement because sleeping 4-5 in that one bed (while fun for a while) is a bit cramped for a good sleep
    wish I could endorse again

I really love this home to start out and continue to live in for a long while. I remember it from awhile back and saw it was updated. Nice to see a more simpler home with a well rested bonus and all the crafting amenities. And a butter churn!

When I first approached the house, Faendal was outside and said something along the lines of Welcome Home. I thought "hmmm I don't remember him saying that in Riverwood before." I had a different voice type follower with me and when we arrived, he said something similar and said to come on in! I'm going to assume these conversations were somehow triggered by this mod and I absolutely love it.

Thank you for this great home.

Nice mod. Simple and convenient. I'm using Immersive Settlements' Riverwood and had no problems. Endorsing.

I had to give it a look and found I like it. It's not cluttered to no end or full of over gaudy items that seems to be all the rage with some of the house modders. Nor does it have a chest full of over powered God mode armor and weapons. Just simple functional starter gear in a simple functional home. I have always liked that location close to Riverwood.

As a starter home its dang good. As a long term home I won't use it and here is why. I would prefer the full smithing tools set up and have them all in the same area. The deck on the end of the house would be perfect. A smelter would be nice but I can deal with the one I have added into Riverwood via another mod. This would make more room inside for more book shelves and such. Then there is the lack of a Enchanting table. Every one adds a Alchemy table to home mods but they always leave out the Enchanting table, which are harder to find to start with. Even in nowhere ville Riverwood there is a alchemy table in the Inn.

You might also consider adding in a basement. From the outside the home looks like it has one to start with judging by the stone foundation. I know you had to add that foundation to get the home to sit level on that hill side. But, a basement with some storage and maybe a bed for a follower would be nice for a longer term home.

Right, I wanted to give people a place to hang their hats while still giving them a reason to invest in a better house when one becomes available. Still, I don't want the house to become completely obsolete after a few levels. I may do a bit of rearranging. You're right that a basement would make sense.

      Thanks for the feedback

Your more than welcome. I like to help out, and since me and the CK don't get along, offering up ideas and advice is the best I can do when it comes to modding.

You took my critique better than most. I had one mod author ask why their house mods were not popular as some others. So I picked one of theirs, at random, and pointed out what I found to be issues with the mod and why I might not use it. Pretty much excessive clutter that I couldn't pick up to get rid of, lighting way too bright, every storage option was named, the walls were covered in ivy to the point I felt like I was in a jungle or something, and so on. I must have hurt their feelings or something because the next day that mod was gone from the Nexus.

I look at starter homes this way. Something I use heavily in the beginning then migrate to something better as I progress. Then from time to time, for a change of pace if nothing else, I will go back to the starter home for a vacation and hang out in that area for a few days. Say every few months game time so that all the dungeons in the area have had time to reset.

If the home has all the tools and plenty of storage I will use it all through a characters play through depending on the role play story I have going in my head. Not every Dovahkiin wants to be in the lime light and the center of attention.

In my case a keeper home is one that has the following.

All the smithing tools in one place with a storage chest for materials.
A Enchanting table with a small lock box for soul gems.
A Alchemy table with a ingredients pouch laying on it. A chest to keep potions in is a plus.
Bookshelves, one or two at least but the more the better since I pick up a copy of every book I come across.
At least one bed/room for a follower.
Storage, two or three chests and one or two manikins. Weapons racks, display cases, and wall plaques not so much or not at all. They can be more buggy than any manikin around. Oh and my pet peeve is mod authors that name storage options. I like to choose what goes where. I feel like named chests are the mod authors way of trying to force me into doing things their way. Irrational maybe, then again that's just me.

Keep in mind, everything I have said is the way I would like to see things. Not everyone agrees with my tastes/preferences and I don't get upset when they don't agree with me.

Any way, I like what you have so far. As is, its a great starter home, but needs some attention to be more than that for me.

so, like hunters cabin of riverwood, i assume this is compatible with ETaCs version of riverwood? really want to try this out since HCOR has some annoying bugs.

edit: it was, and it was exactly what i was looking for. cozy & simple. many thanks.
