Since this mod changes the nature of a particular random encounter, it is difficult to test repeatedly. Please leave a comment describing your first encounter- your feedback is most welcome

Update: So, I have tested the 2 assassins version of the mod through NMM, and it works beautifully. A little different than how I thought, since the combat style alterations I made were after the 2 assassins from my first encounter had already spawned and were attacking. So... yeah now they are quite scary. My advice - don't download more assassins than you can handle, and watch out for shimmering bushes

Update: I unchecked the assassin Nord template as a playable race. Hopefully opening the mod and making one click did not utterly ruin and destroy everything, as it often tends to do. Please let me know if the assassins are now riding dragons or if the whole mod is in Spanish or something crazy like that.

Level 7, 3 assassins, weak argonian.
I was on a horse, I was wondering if I could change the camera to first person view like in oblivion. I messed up and I got my weapon out and find out I could use a weapon while on a horse. While I was surprise about that I didn't saw the 3 red dots

One guy turned visible while attacking me, I tried to kill it on my horse. He couldn't hit me, I could slash him away, then he hitted me 1 time with a poison. I lost 120 health in about 6 seconds. When I saw the devastating attack I ran away with my horse as fast as I could. Haven't seen them since, it's been 5 skyrim hours so I guess they'll come back soon .

The worse in this is that I only stole a Hunting Bow and they're hired to kill me. But next time I'll be prepare, gonna use some epic throwable poisons with the new Papa Timm alchemy mod and I'm gonna kill all of them. I hope they got good items to sell because what I'm gonna use is expensive as fuck.

So I thought I'd drop this by as thanks:
My first encounter was (at first) underwhelming, albeit interesting. I was adventuring around as a dark elf pyromancer with Illia, and was crossing the border between Markarth/the Reach and Whiterun, trying to find a particular cave I needed to locate to find a quest. Then, in the midst of laughing at a group of imperials and stormcloaks beat the ever-loving tar out of each other (and failing miserably in that aspect), when 2 new red blips appeared on my hud. At first I had no idea (since I was using iHud), but once I stopped laughing at the warmongers expressing their patriotism through fisticuffs, I opened my map to get back on track with my cave search and BAM. 2 new enemy blips. I searched for about 5 minutes in an attempt to find the enemies, to no avail... So I gave up and instead looked for that cave again, and found it! However, as soon as I did, the two assassins got the jump on me, and before I could so much as say "Who's trying to re-enact memes on my knee?" I was dead. And I'd forgotten to save in 30 minutes. So, with a groan and a heavy heart, I restarted the search for the cave, although this time I knew where I was going, and was also constantly looking over my shoulder for the assassins this time, whilst also saving like my finger had an abusive relationship with my f5 button. However, this time I got to the cave without a problem, and so waited at said cave for the assassins to turn up, so that I could surprise them, and then turn them into Roast Assassin Surprise. A real templar secret recipe, that one. However, no assassins appeared, despite there being 2 red blips on my map (like before). Not having the patience to run off into the open and be surprised (again), I decided instead to go into the cave to complete my quest of retrieving a gauntlet or axe or something along those lines. Ya know, typical dovahkiin footslogging. However, instead of Gauntlets and axes, I found necromancers. Lots of necromancers. Lots of angry necromancers throwing fireballs and lightning bolts. At this point I was a little peeved by the assassins treating me like prey, so I enacted my frustration in the form of a fireball straight to a few necromancer's faces. Illia helped too, a little bit. After retrieving the gauntlets (or maybe they were axes?) my merry little duo left the cave. It was at this point that I discovered why the Assassins hadn't jumped me the second time; they'd been lying in wait for me to give them an opportunity to strike. An opportunity like walking out of a cave with my guard down. However, after tearing my way through a large group of rather irritable and magically attuned necromancers, as well as being stalked by two creeper assassins, I was... annoyed to say the least. So I charged at the two attackers without even the slightest bit of regard to my own personal safety. (I think those assassins would probably be thinking "lol what a moron" at this point) Because, in my hasty bloodlust, I completely forgot that A) Due to me switching my spells around like mad, I had nothing equipped in either hand and B) I had very little magicka to spare. And so, as the male assassin of the two raised his sword and charged at the deranged n'wah screaming and running towards him like Krieg in a china shop, the many mistakes of my life flashed before me. As well as a large shard of ice.
    Wait wat?
Illia then ran forwards, using herself and her ice spells as a human shield against the assassins. A few mere seconds later, the two assassins fell to the ground, dead, almost like the braindead idiot who'd charged at them unarmed with no armour or hand-to-hand experience to speak of. This was also the day I was reminded of why I absolutely love Illia as a follower (and also the first time I heard a Skyrim NPC laugh for no scripted reason).

11/10 This mod turns the hired th... I mean assassins into what they should've been in the first place. And also offers a decent bit of challenge as well.
It also helped remind me to use my hotkeys properly next time XD

Because of your screen name, I blindly read your whole post, aloud, in my best James Spader impression. It worked out marvelously, because this is a great story, and the right kind of review.

Sorry about the necro-ing a two year old post, but it was too good not to. ;)

      Necro-ing again!
I'm gonna try this out as I have Combat Surrender fitted to my game and the Vanilla Assassins just keep turning tale and running while screaming for mercy... without me even noticing that they're even there.
So hopefully this lot will actually attack me occasionally, (not that I actually want my lil'fella to die as I'm always in 'no reload' mode)

      Edited
      Wonderful, thank you :)

Hello! Is there any chance that this mod would ever get ported over to SSE? I adored using it with Skyrim because it gave more challenge and surprise when traveling randomly and nearly getting shot with poison arrows on the road. I'd ask if I could port it myself, but I'm not particularly good with CK.

    Thank you!

The first set of assassins I came across out after downloading this mod decided to pick a fight with a mammoth and/or giant while waiting for me to get close enough to attack. This turned out to be a poor decision on their part.

Obviously, this is unrelated to the mod itself, but I thought it was funny that "better assassins" ended up being idiots.

The mod does what it says, though! Endorsed!

+1 Also waiting for SSE port

Does it require SKSE64, is that the reason for the delay?

What's the difference between V2, V2 Death Trio, and V2 Lone Assassin?

Or for that matter, what's just the difference between V2 and the Death Trio version - as Lone Assassin pretty much says on the tin.

I assume Death Trio nets the Dunmer/Khajit mix that I've heard all too much about, but what about V2 on it's own? Does it net me a mix of both? Are the assassins all Dunmer/Khajit? What does it mean when you say "No more Nord head"?

I'm curious because I really like this mod, I really like the idea of it, but I have yet to add it to my game because, one I may have downloaded an old version, and two I have my own things I need to work on before I want to use it.

      v2 = 2 assassins attack you.
Trio = 3 assassins attack you.
Lone Assassin : 1 assassin attack you.
What did you not understand ? :p

Ah.. Thanks for that. Had I had gone down to the older versions I would've seen the differences as the newer versions all just say "No more Nord Head" and Trio/Lone say pretty much what was needed. Thanks for that.

I'll be downloading this as soon as I get home. In the mean time and in-between time, author, how about scaling difficulty? I.e one assassin comes after you at first, upon their failure another, if they fail then the deadly trio..?
