Any feedback is welcome here. If you don't like my work, I can respect that as long as you show respect in return. And if you have any suggestions, feel free to post them too.
Version 1.1.0 is live! My apologies for the inconvenience, it's not a habit of mine to release something that doesn't work flawlessly from the get go.
For those that don't get the book added automatically to their inventory, simply open the console and type: player.additem 1A332 1
Thank you for this mod. I have been looking all over for a mod that would allow trainers to work past 90-100 with the uncapper, but haven't had any luck. While this isn't quite what was looking for, it will fill that spot very nicely.
This is a great idea and the mod works really well. Since it is considered a dark and dangerous book it would be interesting if there was a version where you traded filled Black Soul Gems instead of gold. This would fit in perfectly for a dark character. Anyway, it’s a great mod. Endorsed.
I mean, its a living daedric artifact that contains infinite knowlege beyond comprehension. Why would it want a simple object like gold when you can feed it the souls of the fallen in exchange for ancient knowlege? It just seems alot cooler and lore- friendly given the Daedra are creatues created in the intent of harvesting the souls of mankind for their overlords.
This mod is fantastic, and even immersive, by keeping the game from being broken. However, I believe since you're dealing with a Daedric Artifcat, its more logical to maybe even change the payment currency to something that suits it?
I know i may look like someone thinking in a very logical manner, but still.. lets just say you have a daedric artifact taht needs Soul gems to actually invoke whatever knowledge it has to be spilled out, just like Serana needed to soul trap you in a soul gem to enter the soul cairn of the ideal masters, because Daedras are hungry for souls and influence spread, arent they??
The mod is amazing but please tell me how I can tesedit it myself to use 1 Black Soul Gem (Filled with Grand Soul) to train 1 Level. Im not really the most knowledgeable with TES5Edit, im sorry.
A very interesting mod, but is it compatible with other mods that also replace the artifacts? I would assume that it is as long as said mod does not have a patcher. Also might I suggest a version more in tune with the original Oghma Infinium, train all perk trees in a class type. This is more in tune with the original, however I would imagine it would be a monster to code since you would either have to make it train skills all at once, or some advskill or forceav command integration.
Usually, mods that replace the artifacts don't touch the Oghma Infinium. All the mods I ever seen change the artifacts are changing the weapons and armor, not objects like Oghma.
As for a version that would train all perks in a perk tree, it would be possible but I would paint myself in the corner. This would make the mod incompatible with all perk mods. Pretty sure the great majority of people are using perk mods so I would basically make sure I get no one using my mod, which is not the goal... It is an interesting idea, but not feasible in a compatible way.
Really? Why would it become incompatible? All the perk overhauls I have ever used have always left the names of the trees untouched, thus the references needed to advance the skills should still be the same. Or I suppose you could use an alteration where the book doesn't vanish but it does take your gold after you pick a path to train. Honestly I wouldn't put it past Hermaeus Mora stripping the armor from the player if they lack all the gold needed.
I see I misunderstood your request. I thought you asked for a version that would "give" you the perks themselves, not advancing the skills.
If it was based on a class type (combat, magic, stealth) instead of skills, it wouldn't be much harder to code. I just don't have the time or the interest for it.
After using the mod ,I disabled it when I did not need it anymore. But I keep getting a message in the top left corner saying "The Oghma Infinium could not keep its part of the bargain (0 gold removed)." What do I do now? It is really distracting. Can you help, please?
Re-install, open game, save, quit, uninstall again. The NexusModManager sometimes forgets some files while uninstalling...
If it doesn't work, open the mod archive and check which is the script to delete in the Data/Script folder then delete it in the real Data/Script folder of your Skyrim install.
As for why the mod didn't work the first time around, it's always related to something else. I had a couple people having those problems and it was always related to too many mods, not enough memory, too many scripts running, NMM messed up, corrupted save game, etc. The mod itself was never the culprit.
this is a pretty nice concept as alternate for the oghma infinium,I cant believe i never found this mod before. I have one request however. Can you make an alternate version that doesnt require you to pay for the training? I dont know how to do it myself in Tesedit otherwise i would have done it myself.

I hope this helps you solve the problem.
