About this mod

This mod replaces horse riding animations with sidesaddle, a way of ladies riding.

So I decided to make something related to horses.


This mod replaces horse riding animations with sidesaddle, a way of ladies riding.
The subtle change provides you more immersions and helps your role playing.

Features

  • Sidesaddle makes your female character look elegant.
  • Covering most of horse riding animations. Idle, Walk, Trot, Run, Sprint, Jump, Swim, Rear up, Mount and Dismount.
  • (T)BBP Compatible

Downside:
  • Mounted combat is not covered. Sidesaddle doesn't suit for combat.
  • All NPCs do the same animations. But it is rare to see NPC riding on a horse.

Installation

I strongly recommend you to use MO/BAIN/NMM to install.

[MO and NMM user]
Activate and follow the instructions of installation wizard.

[BAIN User]
Open Installers tab, right click, select "Wizard", and follow the instructions of installation wizard.

[Manual]
Open the archive, choose exactly one folder, rename it "data", then copy "data" folder to your "Skyrim" directory.
Each hkx file should be placed in "Skyrim/data/meshes/actors/character/animations/horse_rider/",
but only "paired_mount.hkx" and "paired_dismount.hkx" should be placed in "Skyrim/data/meshes/sharedkillmoves/human&horse/", because those two are paired animation.


Uninstallation

This mod has no esp, no script, no havok behavior, so never dirty your save file.
You can uninstall it whenever you want.

[MO and NMM user]
Simply deactivate this mod.

[BAIN User]
Open Installers tab, right click, select "Uninstall".

[Manual Uninstallation]
Delete the files you installed.

Known Issues

[Critical Issues]
None. I did test play for an hour. There was no critical issues such as CTD.
Though this is the first mod which replaces/modifies horse riding animation, I think. So unexpected issues might occur.
If you find weird behaviors, please report at forum. Showing pictures or videos would be greatly appreciated.

[Minor Issues]
-All NPCs do the same animations. In short, male characters also ride in sidesaddle.
If you think this brakes the immersion, please do not install this mod.
Or, there is a solution that can separate the most of animations into male and female. Check FNIS' page.

-If you apply FNIS' "Gender Specific Animations" option to this mod, you'll see T-pose on the horse occasionally.
It seems quite at random for me. I have no idea of how to fix it.

-There are 1 frame jitters in the transitions between mount and idle, also idle and dismount.
