Any plans on porting this for Special Edition? We really need something like this for special, the vanilla sand textures just look awful...

      It's just texture files.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but you can just run the folder through SSE NIF Optimizer's textures scan just to make sure they work and use them.

hi Cabal I love this retext, I was wondering if you planned to make a update for terrain parallax? all of skyrim is coverd but sadly it makes your textures have deformations and makes my eyes tear up sense I know how good they look

      I respectfully second this request.
One texture in particular does not work well at all with Parallax enabled - volcanic_ash_rocks_01_d.dds

A terrain parallax version would indeed be great!

It's amazing so few people request a parallax update. I would have thought more people use ENB w/parallax enabled these days.
The Solstheim rock problem is very obvious imho - and very immersion-breaking.

btw, Dawnguard could use some parallax-fixes, too. Hint, hint...

Yes I also think a parallax update is indeed needed. I've only just now noticed this mod doesn't have parallax textures. Shame really. Love Cabal's work and I hope someday he'll find time to update this mod.

Late to the party, but its pretty easy to make your own compatible version. With the latest ENB, parallax is pulled from the alpha channel of the diffuse (.dds) file. Simply play around with a greyscale normal map in the alpha channel of the diffuse texture in Photoshop (using NVIDIA's tools) or Gimp (there is some plugin for it) and you'll be good to go. I may be off on this information and it may be a greyscale diffuse that has had its lighting adjust, since I did this almost 2 years ago for all my landscape textures after the _p.dds phase had ended.

For the advanced modder: Some meshes use landscape textures and as such will need the alpha channel to set things correctly, as such parallax will not be available on them... To resolve this issue correctly you can simply edit the texture sets for the landscape and point them to a new diffuse texture that has its alpha channel removed.

Zeroking released parallax goodies for these here. Been using them a long time.

I'd be interested as well, as the link is 404.
Could you upload them Rusey, (if you're allowed)?

These textures aren't very complex, and there aren't very many of them. I can easily whip up some parallax textures and if/when I do, I throw up a link for them. But, yeah, once you enable terrain parallax in ENB , you pretty much need to have parallax alphas for them all.

hey can you unhide your other mods.imperial fort retexture, farmhouse retexture... stone wall tetexture... your mods are recommended as part of Ultimate Skyrim... you are hiding your mods though... do you not want people to recognize your mods as good? do you not want people to use them?

Is there any reason to use these in SSE? Are they higher resolution?

pretty sure the normal maps need to be converted. grab the dlc02 textures from "yet another landscape overhaul" and imo while you're at it get the dlc01 too. what i suggest is basically download and install noble skyrim (and the smim patch if you have smim), then install AMB landscape for skyrim, then YALO for the DLCs. then install mountain/cave/mine/ruins textures you like. then install specific textures for castles, dungeons, etc. i also highly recommend "just ice," arri's snow elf ruins, all of ClearanceClarence's textures, all of Kajuan's textures, the Forgotten Retex Project, gecko's dwaren + nordic ruins, skyland standing stones, skyrim 2017 textures for bridges and roads, skyrim flora overhaul and enhanced vanilla trees (SFO first, then EVT), and there are a few competing sets for high hrothgar and sky haven temple, which depends more on how dark you like it.

aMidianBorn Solstheim Landscape seems to be working with Skyrim Special Edition. I roamed a good portion of Solstheim with increased walking speed and noticed no glitches.

If you're looking for a good Solstheim landscape for SE, I highly recommend YALO. Actually I just really recommend it in general. One of the few landscape textures for the Soul Cairn too.

Hey CaBal I'm here to ask you to upload yourself or to allow your mods to be uploaded by Skeletor(He is currently managing SMIM, Osmodius, Vivid landscapes, etc. Many amazing texture replacers). Please read my letter. I will be posting it on all your mods, because I can't PM you and don't know if you still check which comments.

I know you said you do not want to give permission, but in this life if you don't ask for things you will never get anything. So I at least have to try to convince you to change your mind. It's been a year since Special Edition has came out and the Xbox community numbers have died off a lot but there's no doubt in my mind that your mods would still obtain thousands, maybe tens of thousands, or hundreds of thousands of downloads after some time. The reason why is because they are beautiful. In this world that is turning increasingly ugly we all need to look at beautiful things. Your mods are some of the most beautiful pieces of artwork I have seen in any mod ever! I think it is a shame that such beauty is restricted to a small community. It would be like restricting the Parthenon for only Greeks to visit it. Or never letting anyone see the Sistine Chapel and it's beautiful paintings except the Cardinals and Popes. Beauty can elevate the mind, soul, and people in this world. So I hope you will share this beauty you have created with xbox users. Not just downloads or fame, but because people need to know it exists, that someone made this, and that there are still talented people making beautiful things. Especially for Skyrim as Western games become increasingly less and less appealing to me and many others.

Cabal I beg you to please reconsider and let your works of art be uploaded to xbox. We don't want to make money off your work, or take your credit, all credit will go to you, or you can upload them whatever you wish. The point is I want everyone who plays this game to have the option to play with your mods if they wish too, I think you decided to make these mods and share them because you wanted others to enjoy your work. So please let us enjoy your work. I don't support these corrupt companies, but I think by putting your mods on xbox for us, with all this CC club nonsense people will see that these mods cannot compete with your free mods. I'm sorry to write so much, but I really mean all this and I wanted to let you know. I hope you will read this far and seriously re-consider. I cannot afford a good enough PC after my last one broke. Or I would get one to be able to play Skyrim with fantastic mods like yours.

Thank you for your time, one of your biggest fans!

Im using enb, and I have parallax textures with rest of skyrim expect solstheim and I can't find parallax textures for solstheim from anywhere! I was sure this was the one with parallax textures but NO! There isn't a single parallax texture mod for solstheim in whole nexus, maybe in whole internetz.
The reason why im so frustrated is because of weird graphical glitch when using enb and not using parallax textures.

Hello and many thanks to you, Cabal, for all your hard work. Your textures are... words fail me, they're so gorgeous! I have several of your mods already installed, however, THIS one is being a naughty little camper. I keep getting a "None of the available installer plugins were able to handle that archive." message. Any help would be appreciated, as I'm eager to finish installing this build and actually play the game for the first time in over a week!

Oh, and I'm using MO and playing LE.

did you figure it out? your problem seems very strange to me as this is simply a texture mod. It should work with a simple download to manager and double click to install.
