    4.25 ALPHA Build
    NOTE: If 3.13 is working fine for you, you may want to keep using it until I fix a few bugs with 4.25. Thanks for all your patience and understanding.
    BUGS
    Thank you everybody for bringing any bugs to my attention. I have been going through them and replying, but it has become significantly more difficult with the amount of comments. Here is a list of bugs that I have confirmed, which I plan to fix for the next update (which will be soon). If a bug is too annoying for you now, feel free to revert to an older version.
    - Magic and unarmed combat requires 'ammo' when you directly swap from a bow. Until I fix this, a solution is to unequip you currently equipped weapon (most likely a bow) before equipping your spell.
    - Stutter when drawing a new weapon after swapping unsheathed weapons directly. This occurs only when you equip a weapon without unequipping your currently equipped weapon. Both this issue and the issue above occur because the engine interprets the last display item (Geared Up item) equipped as the item in your right hand until something new is equipped. To fix this I made the script quickly unequip and equip you main hand weapon when a display weapon is shown. Technically this is not game breaking, but to avoid it unequip your currently equipped weapon before equipping a new one. If you always plan to do follow this solution then you can also disable the Temporary Fix in the MCM menu. When disabled the mod should become more stable because it no longer attempts to refresh the main hand weapon.
    - Favouriting items via a controller does nothing. I will fix this asap. For now use a keyboard to favourite things.
    - Staves and other equipment take a few seconds to appear when favourited if your computer is low end. This is because my scripts have to parse the player inventory to find what has been favourited. With my current resources there are no ways to fix this. The parser is very optimized, so you shouldn't have any issues really.
    - Currently the mod checks to make sure you don't have an item equipped on you left hip that is already displayed on your right hip and vice versa (if you have less than two of the item). The mod does not yet recheck things when you change what is favourited, so it may not reshow stuff. I'm fixing this asap. Sorry about that.
    - Sometimes auto-dropped equipment floats. I'm fixing this once again.
    - Bound weapons are doing funny things again. Fixing this as soon as possible.
    - Lots of bugs appearing with torches all of a sudden. I didn't refactor torches in when I changed Realistic Unequip.
    Issues Not Caused By My Mod Alone
    - A few armours on the Nexus utilize some of the unnamed body slots that I use. Currently there are no more slots remaining after factoring in backpacks, cloaks, and bandoliers. I'm brainstorming on a fix for this and I may have thought of one. If the fix takes me a while to do, then I will update the mod to allow you to choose the slots in the MCM menu (for those who don't use bandoliers and/or backpacks and/or cloaks) as a temporary fix.
    - If stuff is appearing at your feet that is an issue with your skeleton mod (or lack thereof). I will be adding a Vanilla position based skeleton to this mod in the next update, for those who are confused by XPMS. If you use another skeleton, just replace mine with the one you use (install the other skeleton after my mod).
    - Left hand equipment isn't showing, or staffs/shields on back aren't showing. Make sure you have the DSR meshes. Also, if you have a backpack on, the shield probably won't show up because DSR mesh packs don't have backpack distanced meshes. I'm going to make some of these eventually.

    Seeing as this is an overhaul, it's going to get a few more features and upgrades before we're through! Everything added will be completely MCM configurable. This means all hotkeys for added features can be reassigned and all added features can be toggle off. Also, all hotkeys can be individually toggled off so you don't have to waste you precious key binds if you don't want a certain hotkey! Here's the plans:

    Features I'm Diligently Working On
    - Removing the need for mesh packs entirely. This will take some time, but I have an idea on how to do it.
    - Sheathing shields onto your back for all those people who miss it.
    - More tweaking for less clipping with shield on back. It will distance the shield if anything is displayed on back.
    - Displaying favourited torches!
    - Merger with Realistic Weapon Positions.
    - Proper armor equipping (think: Armor Animations with realistic animations for each type of equipment and some special features)
    - Multilingual support. Integrated directly into the main version of the mod.

    Possible Features for a Future Update
    - NPCs. It is completely possible, but I won't work on it until Geared Up and Dual Sheaths is 100% complete and stable.
    - Optional method to auto-equip picked up weapons/items
    - Optional dropped lit torch fire spread
    - Torches extinguishing based on dampness and time.
    - Auto-unequip arrows (will have arrows equipped when bow is in favorites or equipped, auto-unequips otherwise)

    Hey guys just found out something about this amazing mod I have been using for years. Its totally compatible on special edition. I tried it recently with the brand new skse64 and skyui for special edition and holy cow it works perfectly. Idk how but it does, I hope some of you try it and post you results im pretty curious if its judst a fluke for me. Im just glad it works perfectly because no offense to the modder who tried to make one for special edition, it's just not that good. Like it will work for a while but then once in a while when you equip a certain weapon it might unequip others, which is really immersion breaking. Anyway just thought I should let ya'll know since I haven't heard of anyone else trying this mod on special edition, let alone getting it to work. Happy trails,....... WHERE'S MY FISHY STICK lol

      I think most incompatablities have to do with esp/esm files(one of the two, forget which) and meshes, this one is mostly scripts I think.

      I can confirm 100% that this mod works flawlessly on SSE. Installed with NMM and let loot do its thing. The MCM showed up immediately, I'm very pleased.

      You sir are my hero today. Was wondering why visible favorited gear was so buggy lately, turns out it was just due to everything else updating like xpmse and skse. This works so much better though, thankyou so much for pointing this out!

      couple of quick questions before i try this on my own. Are you using the 3.13 version or the 4.25 alpha in SSE? and if it's the latter, are you using the Ecotone Dual Sheath from the SSE Nexus? of course that question is redundant if the 4.25 alpha doesn't work in SSE.

      I have not tried the alpha build or the other mod you mentioned, but if you try the alpha make sure to post your results.. I too am curious as to how it runs, I absolutely love the stable version of the mod but those extra features sound juicy.

      I also can confirm it. But one shortcoming though, when you equip a two-handed weapon or bow, the shield on your back (from Ecotone Dual Sheathe mod) disappears.

      I just tried the Alpha version (converted) in SSE, first with (converted) meshes of Dual Sheath Redux, then with meshes from Ecotone ... CTDs as soon as I started selecting weapon favorites. So, can't recommend that. The stable 3.13 version (converted) with Ecotone does "work", but not necessarily together. For example, if you favorite both the sword and dagger, you'll get both on your left hip. But if you equip them (sword right, dagger left), the dagger moves to your right hip. Unequip the dagger and it goes back to your left hip. One mod does it one way ... the other mod does it another. Same with the shield. Favorite the shield and it does nothing. Equip it and it shows up on the back. Unequip it and it disappears. It explains BAPWAS's comment about making the bow or two-handed weapon a favorite, then equipping it. Have the shield equipped and you see weapon and shield on your back. Equip/draw the weapon and it means the shield is no longer equipped, so it disappears.

    HEELLLPPP: So i think i uninstalled the mod wrong because now swords show up on your waist when sheathed (like they should) but when i unsheath, my character uses the sword on back animation. i think theres some code left behind that wasnt deleted... and i cant find a way to fix it.. pls help :(

    Edit: Also when i try to reinstall the mod to bring up the menu where i can chose the sword on back mesh, it doesnt work :/ (im using "Mod organizer" btw)

    oooh wait i tried something, lets see if that worked, lol i fixed it haha nvm :D

      In the future, if you fix something you post a help request for, let people know how you fixed it. You might make someone's day a lot easier because they have the same problem you do.

      Shouldnt uninstall any mod in an ongoing savegame, either use a savegame before X mod was installed or start a new game.
      This isnt a bug of any mod, its just like Skyrim savegames work.
      Everyone should inform themself before modding any game in any way.

    Anyone know how to reset the 10 remembered items list? Every time I switch anything I get the message "I've dropped so many things I'm starting to forget where they are" and my favorites aren't remembered when I pick them back up.

    I loved this mod at first, but I quickly realized it makes playing a battle mage impossible. Swapping from sword to spell, while you have a shield out, requires to you put away your shield, rendering you defenseless for the four seconds it takes to put away, switch to spell, then take out the shield again. It also isn't realistic. Too bad there's no way to only sheathe one hand.

    Another incredibly annoying feature is the fact when you drop a weapon / shield, you lose all associated keybinds made with skyui favorite menu.

    because of the two above features making the game basically unplayable, I had to remove this mod :/

    I know the mod is dead, but I thought of a really neat idea, relating to the above. Instead of dropping weapon, switching to a spell jams it into the ground, point down. Then when you pick it up again, you auto equip it.

      You know that you could've just turned off that feature, right? It's in the mod's tab.

      It literally is realistic. That's the point of the mod. You must never have played a tabletop RPG if you think it's normal to just have all abilities at your fingertips at any given second. Granted, I liked what Oblivion did with letting you cast with your offhand while using a 2h weapon, but shooting fireballs out of your main sword hand was pretty ridiculous. It also made being a spellsword practically a no-brainer rather than a conscious choice.

    Just in case somebody is as dumb as me: Staffs and shields on your back do NOT work in the stable version. They are only available in the alpha build. I failed to realize this, and it took me half an hour to find my mistake why the stuff wouldn't show up despite my best efforts to install the DSR meshes.

      How is it using that version? I'm dying to have staves on my back but don't want my stable game to explode, lol. I think it's safe to assume the alpha version will never be finished at this point.

      Yep, that's a feature. You need to sheath your weapon before equipping another, one of the main features of the mod actually. Easily disableable if you don't like it.

    Would LOVE to see this ported to SE. Realistic unequip specifically, is one of my essential mods and it would be great to have it running on a version that handles scripts and stuff better.

      dont think you read my earlier post but I have tried this mod with the new SKSE64 and SkyUI on Special Edition and it works like a charm. I have been using it for the last month or so and there seem to be no issue. The realistic unequip option works as well as obviously, showing all your favorite weapons. I recomend you try it with the latest SKSE64 and SkyUI. I am very curious to see if this works for others.

    Hello I do not know if you work on this mod still but I HAVE FOUND A BUG.
    When the player is in "fighting stance" with weapon drawn and wants to open favorites ( "To switch to a different weapon" ) as you open favorites the weapon you switched from no longer shows up on my person, then when exiting the favorites the weapon/weapon's you switch from unequipped from my person all together and fall out of my inventory right after.

      Go into the MCM menu and disable realistic unequip. It's a feature, not a bug.
