About this mod

A reasonably spacious player home and farm on the road between the Guardian Stones and Riverwood.

Permissions and credits

A reasonably spacious player home and farm on the road between the Guardian Stones and Riverwood. This was originally just somewhere to try ideas (evil experiments) while learning the basics of CK and for messing about with some farming / survival mods. Soon I needed a home for myself, Vilja, a dog and a growing group of followers and children. Hence the creation of Greenmount Gardens.

This is my own personal play space and as such, should be considered a work in progress and is not yet complete or perfect.
It is provided as is and may never be complete or perfect.
NPC's and custom containers all use vanilla assets and as such their appearance may vary depending on what you have installed.
This mod was built to use vanilla lighting and is only partially tuned for ENB.

Greenmount Village Progress Report - (2018-06-14)

*Greenmount Village is now stand alone and doesn't require GMG. They can be run together. Thanks to Mod Merge for saving me from the headache of poking around in TES5Edit and making a mess of things.

*NPC's from GMG, KRWood and Gang Of Girls are now living here. They are all indapendant of other mods. Most have been remade from nothing an an attempt to fix the dodgy neck seams and eye shapes. I couldn't get the GOG girls noses or mouths the same. I've also started adding the missing hairline meshes to the heads of each male NPC. Not a problem in Oldrim. Problem in SE, as they make the hair translucent in certain lighting conditions. Although, RaceMenu exports everything, NifMerge doesn't add the extra head parts. They need to be added manually in Nifskope.

*All added NPC's are in their homes. Some have basic wander packages. I'm yet to create the final ones for them.

*The Guards are vanilla and have AI packages set. I've only made about half at this stage. Each gate will get 2 for day and 2 for night. The same for the patrol guards. North and south guards are housed separately. (Approx 24 - 30 total for the village)

*Have added 2 custom Wood Elves and 2 vanilla Argonians. Have started making heads for the family that lives in the low house beside the pond.

*Am looking for some good "free to use" Argonian and Khajiit textures. As well as "free to use" underwear for the younger NPCs. (Non sexy/skimpy.) All suggestions are welcome.

*External toggles have been disabled, until I remake the scripts and get the final layout and plantings.

*Everything with the GMG_ prefix, now has the GMV_ prefix to stop confusion. (Hope I haven't missed any...)

*HF planters are now in the lookout area and are enabled. Please let me know if you think the planter stands are too large. I can scale them down to the same size as those in BRC. But, some plants hang over the sides of the planters.

*Am again playing around with multiple levels for the village. Still not fully happy with it. SkyBirds adds 2 pine trees near the inn/bath house. The 2 wooden columns are markers for the tree's position.

*Have included a PDF showing what is done, what is yet to be done and what I'm thinking for each NPC. Normally this information is in my head, a notebook and several loose pages that all seem to disappear when I need   to find  them. Now it's in a spreadsheet that is easy to read and update.

*Please feel free to share your suggestions, tips and wishes. I seriously consider all feedback. Although, I may not be able to make it into reality. I'll give it a go.

  • 4 Residents who can become companions
  • A Bard/companion, who performs each evening
  • Alchemy/Enchanting area with custom bookcases and storage
  • Cooking area with oven and working churn.

  • Many custom containers for ingredients, potions, food and drink.
  • Many safe storage barrels (Light brown ones)
  • Some re-spawning barrels (Grey ones)
  • Plenty of room for companions and pets

  • Separate Main bedroom with double bed
  • Bedroom space for up tp 6 adopted children (HF vers)
  • Bedrooms with beds for up tp 10 companions/guests
  • Bathing area with auto undress/redress (Not quite perfect yet. Still working on it...)
  • Small armory with mannequins, weapon/shield plaques and racks. (For those of us who collect rare weapons and armors)

  • Can now place daggers on the tables in the armory
  • A room to display one's treasures and collectables
  • A configuration room, allowing the player to toggle various features
  • Some interactive, mounted, animal heads

  • 2 New patrol guards/companions (Old friends of Ulf)
  • Alchemy garden with 28 Hearthfires planters
  • Lots of landscape and garden work
  • A quiet fishing spot
  • Quiet places to just sit and relax
  • Crafting area
  • Smelter (behind Ulf's cottage)

  • Party area for locals to relax on weekends
  • Small pond with fish and fed by a spring
  • Cows, goats and chickens
  • Vegetable garden
  • Jethro, the horse
  • A pair of guard bunnies

  • NPC's, horse and bunnies have their own routines in and around Riverwood
  • Horse and bunnies return to the stables at night and when it's raining
  • Many Riverwood residents visit the gardens at various times
  • (I have seen Dorthe and Frodnar join in games with adopted children)
  • Many custon containers for ores, ingots etc.

  • Some safe storage barrels (Light colored ones)
  • Some re-spawning barrels   (Grey ones)
  • And lot's more landscape work...

The following features can be toggled at any time, to suit yourself
The controls are located in the gallery, via the armory
For older vers look inside the wardrobe in the main bedroom for the controls.

  •   Individual NPC's
  •   Shirene's bard ability
  •   Smelter area
  •   Vegetable garden
  •   Alchemy Garden
  •   Extra trees
  •   Extra plants
  •   Companions bedroom (3 beds)
  •   Children's bedroom (3 beds)
  •   Extended childrens bedroom (3 beds)
  •   3 Mannequins in the main hall (armory is untouched)

Mannequins and NPC's are teleported to a holding cell. This way their inventories will stay intact.
If an NPC is a follower, you can call them back from the holding cell. (Tested with Follower Mod)
Mannequins will unequip their armour when re-enabled and generally face the wrong direction.
To reset them, just go to an outside cell and return, or manually add/remove something from them.
If you toggle the children's beds, please remember to recast "Bless Home" spell.
That will allow "Hearthfires Multiple Adoptions" to sense how many beds are available.

In my testing, the containers in the smelter area have kept their contents, even after being toggled several times.
If you don't trust them, just stash your loot elsewhere before disabling them.

Please remember to pick and clear all plants from the Hearthfires planters before toggling them. Otherwise
there will be a lot of floating plants in the Alchemy garden.

Have added 3 custom bookcases. I've tried hard to get an "everyday used" feel with them. Some are angled so the havok
will lay them in the correct direction. If the books don't fall corrctly, just activate the bookcase and exit.
DO NOT remove books without activating the book case. The counters mess up and books tend disappear into the realms of
Oblivion. This causes Urag to get quite upset.

  • Elissa - Bow, 1H weapons. Light armor
  • Ulf - Bow, 1H weapons and light armor
  • Aeridi - Conjuration, Necromancy, 1H weapons. Any armor
  • Jenlling - Any weapon or armor
  • Bella - Conjuration, Shock and 1H weapon. Light armor.
  • Hlenthis - 2H weapons. Light armor.
  • Shirene - Restoration, Destruction and 1H weapon. Light armor. (Will try to keep the team's health up)

Residents are essential and can be wed.
Female residents are now standalone and their appearance shouldn't be affected by other mods.
Male residents heads are now standalone, but their body type will be whatever you have installed.

Please be gentle, as I've never tried making one before. Or 7 of them, as is the case here.
(They are the best I can do, with my limited knowledge of the process...)

Customise to your own liking

Males use whatever body you have installed.
Female body type is UNPetite by Nightasy
Female body textures are SG Female Textures Renewal by Hello Santa

To change body types or textures just replace what you want, keeping the names used in the following directories.
You may wish to extract the BSA to do this of simply load them loose AFTER GMG

Face Meshes

Shared Body Female
\meshes\GMGNPCs\Shared Body
\textures\GMGNPCs\Shared Body

Individual NPC parts, eyes, hair etc

Shared Body Male
\meshes\GMGNPCs\Shared Male Body
\textures\GMGNPCs\Shared Male Body

Height and Weight

If you wish to change either of these, select the NPC in the console and
use the following commands in this order...

setnpcweight x       (where x=0 to 100)
setscale y                (where y<1 for smaller, y>1 for taller)
enable                      (This will reset the ugly potato head)

Greenmount Gardens now comes in 3 flavours.

No DLC
   Does not need anything.
Can not adopt. Can not display treasures.

All DLC

Needs Hearthfires, Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC.
Can Adopt. Can not display treasures.

Heartfire Multiple Adoptions by TMPhoenix is needed, if you wish to adopt children.
Just use the "Bless Home" spell when indoors, to enable support.
Skyrim runs without it, but adoptions in custom homes won't work.

Needs Hearthfires, Dragonborn and Dawnguard DLC.
   Can Adopt. Can display treasures.
General Displays by Tueffel is required to display your treasures.
Please make sure that GeneralDisplays.esm, GeneralDisplays-DB.esm and GeneralDisplays-DG.esm
are enabled and loaded BEFORE GMG.esp Otherwise, the game will crash on start.
I used this so your treasures can be accessed and displayed simultaneously in any homes that have the activators.
Just add and remove your treasures from the safe and they should be displayed after a few secounds.
It has a few little quirks, so, treat it like the custom bookshelfs.

GMG and ETaC

GMGETaC - Complete does not require any DLC.
If you get CTD on startup, place GMG and GMGETaC last in your load order.
If you have mods that change the appearance of Riverwood NPCs, load them after GMG and GMGETaC.

Kriemen's Riverwood is done and can be found here

NOTE: GMG0100HF is not compatible with any earlier versions.

1 - Create a new save. (keep your old one safe)
   2 - Just place GMG.esp and GMG.bsa into skyrim\data
   3 - Enjoy...

If this is not to your liking, simply remove any stashed loot, delete GMG.esp, GMG.bsa and the new save.

Or (better still)

Open it in Creation Kit and hack it about until your heart's content. Have fun with it and learn CK at the same time. [grin]
Anything I've diddled / created has the prefix GMG and does not overwrite any vanilla objects.
If you release a mod based on this, let me know and I'll make a link to it.

Any mod that changes the following may conflict. [X/Idle Markers]

  •   Area between the Riverwood guards camp and Embershard Mine rear entrance            [Main residence/landscaping]
  •   Area next to the large waterfalls downstream of Riverwood. Where the wolves attack.
  •   Area around the Guardian Stones.
  •   Area between Riverwood sawmill and workbench.
  •   Area near Alvor's forge.
  •   Interior of Riverwood Trader.
  •   Interior of Sleeping Giant Inn.
  •   AI packages for Alvor, Sigrid, Hod, Gerdur, Faendal, Hilde (Base AI is unchanged, but have added packages to allow interactions with GMG)
  •   Beautification of the above NPC's. Load these AFTER GMG (Even though I've only edited AI packages, CK also adds other data as well)

This mod was built to use vanilla lighting and is only partially tuned for ENBs. Some areas may be a tad dark or too bright. Please read the included "ENB Notes.txt"
