I'm guessing this doesn't work with custom races? Serana started prowling immediately, but my custom Dark Elf follower just stands around and stares lol
Edit: I'm sad. :( NONE of my vampire NPCs ever feed except Serana, who I promptly ditch after Dawnguard. I've been playing with multiple vampire followers with this mod for weeks, and never seen one feed. Is it incompatible with Better Vampires or something?? I'm at a loss!
Looks like it works by adding the BloodthirstFeeding package to all keyword labeled Vampire actors (only runs once)... If your custom followers lack the actual keyword, or were installed after you'd started the game/activated Bloodthirst, then they won't get the package added. Did you try starting a new game?
It could also be their own packages are just taking precedence, if they're just standard type followers. Serana has looser ai packages, so if your customs wander as often as her (rather than sticking by your side constantly), they SHOULD be able to feed...
Hmm... Curious, because the mod 'Bloodbond: Contract with the Vampire' says that if you 'lend your powers' to a follower, they should be able to feed with this mod. That's curious, because not only would they become a Vampire AFTER this mod is installed, but since they're not TRUE Vampires as far as I can tell, I'm not sure they'd be flagged properly... Other followers, however, were existing Vampires, have the proper flags and keywords, and have been installed (even if not recruited) since long before installing this. I'll try setting them to sandbox when I'm busy with AFT... Unless a conflict with AFT could be to blame??
My educated guess is that your follower npc is either:
1- Templated, meaning it borrows characteristics from another npc/models ->Check in tes5edit if your non-player character has something in the "Template" section, if they do, uncheck the "Use Keyword" and possibly* "use Spell" boxes.
2- Not possessing the right keywords for this mod to work. The npc requires the "Vampire" and "ActorTypeUndead" keywords to function. ->Check if your custom race npcs have them. So your comment on bloodbond mod is in fact correct, the npc is supposed to receive the right keywords for bloodthirst to kick in.
* I'm saying possibly because someone once said that the npc needed the crVampireSunDamage "Weakness to Sunlight" as Actor Effect, on top of the right keywords. So possibly uncheck "use spells" too because that actor effect is in fact a spell.
I haven't messed with this issue in a long time, but I might have fixed it... I can't remember for sure though, LOL. If I did, it was the key words that were the issue. Still, thank you for commenting!
so how would I go about putting a pause on the feeding. I especially want to make sure I don't get on a load transition. Something like a wait (5) after loading or just put in a pause in general? Thank you.

Easy enough to check/fix: 1) Start with a new/fresh download of this mod into SSE/AE 2) open Creation Kit w/ Bloodthirst set as active file 3) Save and exit (and depending on your MM of choice, open it and re-deploy mods). This will change it from Form 43 (LE) to Form 44 (SSE/AE).
Now for your particular problem, open SSEdit (Xedit) and make sure: under ActorValue is the line: crvampiresundamage "Weakness to Sunlight" under keywords is: ActorTypeUndead Vampire Close, and yet again, re-deploy mods. Done. Hope this helped.
Amazing mod that adds lot of immerson and horror SPECIALLY if u have immersive wenches ans at night u see vampire girls are sneaking around to feed.they killed me few times by feeding on me.i quess inaccurate bite. But I still think the mod is not working as its intended.I feel like vampires should try to feed more.vampires like alva does not feed at all.and vampires do not feed mid combat at all either.The mods that i think are related to it are Sacrosant,better vampire npcs,wildcat combat and ultimate combat mod.I also have immersive citizen AI Overhaul.can anyone tell me why is this happening and what should I change in load order so first all of vampires feed and do it more regularly"as i said some like alva doesnt feed at all" and also get vampires to feed in combat too
An option to ignore player from being bitten would be nice.It is really annoying because vampire followers always wants to munch on the player rather than other npcs(non essential ones) when exploring with them.
Hi, i just have a problem with the mod, npc faces become darker with the mod. I have a pb previously with my own overwrite folder who doing that and i just deleted it to get back to normal face colors but with your mod it come back and i don't see anything that overwrite my body texture/meshe.
I've a mod also covering this missmatch in case, loading an esp, should i put this esp below yours? Thank you.
