I downloaded the mod, I admit I was intrigued by it. Aaaand now my Skyrim crashes upon opening, it's never done that with any other mods.. Until today.
Has this happened to anyone else?

When you mean it crashes upon Skyrim "opening", do you mean it doesn't even get to the load menu? I had this happen once when I was installing mods, and I ended up tearing my hair out trying to work out what mod was causing it. However, after much effort, I found that one of Skyrim's mod files (in my case, Dwanguard bsa file) had become corrupted, because Steam was (for some reason) trying to download it again. Check all your bsa files. Do you already have the "bsa browser" from Nexus? This is useful in telling which bsa's are corrupt. Note you cannot tell if a bsa file is corrupt until you actually open it. For example, checking the file size wont work. Files can have the correct size but the data within them can be broken. This is caused by problems during the download process.

If you don't already have the bsa browser (unfortunately, it is under moderator review and cannot be downloaded at the moment), you could look at your whole skyrim directory and look for files that have changed since the last time you had skyrim working. Look for files that have a recent changed/modified date. This will help you locate which files may have recently become changed and possibly corrupt. Then, get a new copy of those files.

In general, if a download is ever interrupted (including and especially through steam), that file will continue to download but there is a good chance the file will be broken internally. Downloads generally only work if they are not interrupted at any time. Even pausing/ resuming/restarting a download can cause the data to become corrupted. The only way to be sure of a good download (if it has been interrupted at any time), is to wait for the download to finish, then redownload it. This is because resuming a paused/halted download will mean it continues where it left off, because the data is cached. However, the last chunk of data it downloaded prior to resuming, is likely to be corrupt. Thus, you must finish the download entirely, then the downloaded files are marked as complete and given to you and the cache is cleared. Then, download again and hope the new download is not interrupted.
