Imp’s More Complex Needs – Compatibility Patches

=====================================================================================
Check the "Changes" Tab for news on recently added patches

1 new patch - KatixasBeerBrewery
1 new alternative patch for HerbalTea
---A custom patch for HerbalTea that I use for myself.
---Alternative patch now requires "IMCN Water Bottle" to craft teas; now something for those bottles besides for accumulating and drinking.
---Crafting now produces 2 teas
---Increased most ingredient requirements for balancing.
---Only use 1 HerbalTea patch; either "Regular" or "Custom"

TEST version of Missing Foods Fix, now available
-----Check "Updates" section of Files-----
What does the Missing Food Fix do? It gives "generic" nutritional stats to the few Skyrim/Hearthfire/Dragonborn foods that IMCN does not recognize.
This includes:
--Skyrim Foods:Sliced Goat Cheese
--Hearthfires Foods: Potato Soup, Mudcrab Legs, Salmon Steak[HF version]
--Dragonborn Foods: Sadri's Sujamma, Cabbage Soup[DB version]

See below for more information regarding the "generic" patch process, and the meaning of the "-simple" tag.

Who? UWShocks
What? IMCN Patches [be happy :D ]
When? When needed by myself, or if I receive enough interest from the community
Where? Nexus of course!
Why? To aid in the accessibility of using “Imp’s More Complex Needs” with other food mods. IMO, IMCN is the Ultimate “Needs” mod that is under-rated and overlooked by many.
BONUS: How? With TES5Edit of course. Imp has a very good article on his mod’s website; it explains in detail how to create a compatibility patch for his mod. This is accomplished by adding “keywords” to food items, which enables IMCN to recognize the patch and apply generic food stats to it.

======================================================================================

Requirements:
These PATCHES require that you first have installed “Imp’s More Complex Needs” and the original “Food Mod” listed below [see links in “The Goods” section].

Imp’s More Complex Needs:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/10639

These patch are designed to be used with IMCN v0.31
Once Imp releases 0.32, I will make any changes [if needed].

===================================================================================

Known Issues:

1.
When canceling a meal using a “food item” added by a generic patch, it does not seem to give the player back that meal. This seems to be a bug with the current patch making process.

---Instead, IMCN will refund the player a vanilla fooditem from the same category as the modified food [see images section]. For example, canceling the consumption of a tea from the HerbalTeas mod will instead give the player a vanilla tea item. Canceling the consumption of a Cliffracers Stew will refund the player a Beef Stew.

Above glitch confirmed by “crcfehler” at his IMCN Patch page:
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/46799/

2.
When in combat, the consumption of a modded food will be blocked. However, any magical effects from that food item will still be applied to the player; I am not sure if this is something I or Imp can correct [perhaps this is why vanilla food effects were nullfied in IMCN].

===================================================================================

Background Information:
The current process of creating patches for “Imp’s More Complex Needs” has a few limitations; namely when using the “easy” method to create patches, you can only apply generic stats to foods introduced by mods. The easy method entails applying “GENERIC IMCN KEYWORDS” to various food items.

For example, if a new mod adds “Stew”, and a generic IMCN Stew has food stats of “21 – Satiation, 34 – Calories, 8- Hydration”, then all stews added by mods that I tag [or you tag] with the IMCN Stew tag will have the exact same satiation/calorie/hydration stats. Thus, “Fox Stew” and “Cabbage Stew” will have the same nutritional level.

=================================================================================

-simple- tag
Following the tradition “Imp of the Perverse” has setup for naming IMCN patches, I have appropriately named my patches using the format: “IMCN – ‘Mod Name’”.
Since my PATCHES use generic keywords for nutritional information, I have decided to implement a new nomenclature for these IMCN patches. The ESP name will contain the tag “- simple” to inform the user that these patches use the “generic keyword” technique. Thus: “IMCN – ‘Mod Name – simple.esp”
If an “Original Author” of any of the listed “Food Mods” decides to create their own IMCN patch; then they will still have the opportunity of naming their patch following Imp’s original nomenclature[minus the “- simple” tag]. Thus, back to the intended format: “IMCN – ‘Mod Name”.

=================================================================================

Original Mod Authors:
If you are the original author of a mod I created a patch for, I give you permission to upload and use my patch on your mod page, and you can use it for anything else you see fit.

====================================================================================

Bug Fixes:

Test version of "Missing Foods Fix" is now available for download. This applies "generic" keywords to foods not recognized by IMCN. Because of the "generic" patch process, the nutritional stats are pre-generated and cannot be changed by myself [however, the food stats are very close to what would be expected].

Since this patch only adds keywords, it does not contain any scripts, and should be "upgrade" friendly to IMCN v0.32 [when it is availble]; although no guarantees. Just be sure to uninstall my fix before installing IMCN v0.32

Lastly, load my FIX after "Imps More Complex Needs", IMCN-Hearthfire, IMCN-Dragonborn, and any other IMCN module/patch [to ensure the fix has priority].

==================================================================================

The Goods:
With respect to the above limitations, here are the compatibility patches I have compiled:

Herbal Tea - by Gustav Lundgren v1.2
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/33253

Real Wildlife Skyrim – by Nedius v1.3.6
[requires patch 1.3.6; see link]
I have changed the name of some of the food items; this was my preference. I use this mod with Hunterborn, and both mods add similar items like “Wolf Meat”. Thus, I named the food added by this mod as “Unique” to differentiate it from Hunterborn’s Meat. The mod still works the same as before, only the name of raw meat was changed.
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/9778/ [original mod; select 1.342 version]
http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/31925/ [1.3.6 update; created by LifesToRock and Hosted by Verodor; select English version].

Hunterborn – by dragonsong v1.3.1
The author of Hunterborn has expressed interest in creating his own IMCN patch; I have labeled my patch with the “simple” tag to differentiate that I use “generic keywords” in my patch. If he decides to create his own patch, he can use the intended “IMCN – Hunterborn” format.

Be a Milk Drinker - by CaptainRC v2.2
[Vanilla and Hearthfire versions available; Vanilla version NOT tested].
--Now with FOMOD installer; which allows the user to select desired version during installation. [NMM only]
--Warning--
Imp does not include a “Milk” nor “Juice” nutritional stat to add towards foods. Thus, I instead added the “coffee” stat to the Milk and Juice items added by this mod. Unfortunately, this will only replenish a small amount of hydration, but the player will receive the added benefit of ingesting caffeine; which gives a small boost to specific stats [ex: stamina regen] for a limited time.

===================================================================================

Installation

Install using NMM [Nexus Mod Manager]; recommended
OR
Manually install into your Skyrim/Data/ folder

======================================================================================

Uninstalling Mod

My patches only add IMCN recognizable "KEYWORDS" to new foods added by mods. Thus, it contains ZERO SCRIPTS and should be safe to remove without any major consequences.

To uninstall, either use NMM [Nexus Mod Manager[ to uninstall the mod, or manually delete the "ESP" file added by my patch from your "SkyrimData" directory.

======================================================================================
Load Order:
Load these patches after the “original mod” and after “Imp’s More Complex Needs”.
For example: If you download the “IMCN – Hunterborn – simple” patch, then the load order should be:

Update.esm
Unofficial Patches.esp
……..…….
Hunterborn.esp
…………….
Imp’s More Complex Needs.esp
…………….
IMCN – Hunterborn – simple.esp

==============================================================================

Modder’s Will:

If I am absent from the Nexus for longer than 3 months, The Nexus community can do whatever they want with these patches.

================================================================================

Credits:
Credits go to "Imp of the Perverse" for creating IMCN, and to the authors of the above food mods. This would not be possible without these great pieces of work.

I only created a patch that allows these food mods to have the ability to communicate with the mod "Imp's More Complex Needs".

================================================================================

Additional:

Be sure to check out “crcfehler’s” IMCN Patch page, as he may create additional patches.
