Welp, I'm already stumped. Any attempt to save a page preview results in the page being off-center, and the 'step 2' and 'step 3' buttons being visible on the preview. >:|
So let me say one thing sense some comments seem to not grasp what this tool does
This isn't so much a: "WYSIWYG Editor to Help with the Creation of new book mods inside the Creation Kit of Skyrim" But rather an image editor, yes you're not making anything in the Creation kit, least text wise.
When you're making books in the Creation Kit, you're typing in your text, and using very basic html commands to set font, bold text, and such. What this book creator does is take all the text you're typing and images placed and make it into one image (per 'page') that you then have to load up, and package with your mod. While this Bookcreator does give you the raw code to paste into the Creation Kit if you want to go that path, all it is, is the html for the pages image, and then the command for a new page.
The downside of using this tool is that as it's making images for the pages instead of using text, you have to include all those images with the mod if you want to give it out, or package them together. If you don't know how to do any of that then if you're planning on using this for a public mod then you'll be making everyone else error out when they read it as they wont have the images for the book. Another downside is this tool don't seem to do transparency all that well for text or its images. Leaving white pixels here and there making stuff look rather bad, as well as some thing's looking a bit blurred.
Over all it's not -that- bad, but if you truly want to make a book for your mod I'd recommend looking up a tutorial http://tesmods.blogspot.com/2012/02/tutorial-creating-new-book.html is pretty good... your books can than be dumped into the world like any other object. or if you want to go with images and know how to set up the textures properly to load, use something like photoshop or gimp, and just use a 400x300px transparent PNG file and plop your text and images on that.
If it wasn't for the botched up transparency issues, this editor would be kinda alright.
Enoomnai: You are right, it's easy using the CK.. BUT if you want to see the result in realtime you need a visual editor, and that is exactly my tool is doing.
You don't NEED to know HTML to make books. http://tesmods.blogspot.com/2012/02/tutorial-creating-new-book.html is a good tutorial and shows how to make a book and change the text. Really the only HTML used is for the fonts and the sizing, and extra images.
I cant add a .rtf file for the text :/, any help please, maybe just dont work, I dont wanted to write my whole book on the Book Creator tool, please some help, I'm making a very cool book about my experiences on Skyrim and I wanted to share it and make a mod about, the books will have a value of 250 gold and will be a speech ability book too, nice mod, I'm trying it
Now works, I think was a bug, works fine now!!, I just close the tool and reload it
