~~~~~Added a link to MMOxReview's Skyrim Mods Weekly #7 video to the video section, which features my hair textures and other great mods!~~~~~
New hair texture for most of the male and female hair models.
The file contains only 2 texture files, the diffuse, and the normal/specular textures. However, most of the hair models use just this one texture.
This is NOT a super high res texture re-placer. Texture dimensions are the same as original Bethesda textures.
Update September 21 2012
Added file with a FOMOD installer script created by JeBuSBrian
UPDATE January 21:
Added compressed dxt5 DDS files. Both the diffuse and normals have alpha channels, in case you are wondering why dxt5 for both.
This should help conserve performance.
Update 1.3.2: Alpha channel for normal map should be fixed.
UPDATE December 25:
Version 1.3
Replaced my alpha with Bethesdas original alpha, only very slightly modified. If your hair is still to short, blame Bethesda, nothing I did to the alpha effects the hair length, I promise. ;)
I also included the less noisey/sharp normal map, I left the more sharp version in an optional folder in the same file.
Very brief and to the point readme added in the file as well.....
Added new comparison screenshot.
MERRY CHRISTMAS and all that stuff!!!!
FAQ:
Q: Can you upload a version without the stray hairs?
A: I have lost the original PSD files, removing the stray hairs would require me to re-paint the texture from scratch all over again. I may at some point re-paint the textures and include a version without stray hairs.
Q: Does this work with coolsims hair?
A: Short answer is no. I have not personally tested the textures with them, however considering they are models not designed for Skyrim specifically, I doubt they will fit the textures without editing the UV's.
Installation:
Merge "textures" folder with your Data>textures folder.
Optional folder contains a sharper more noisey normal map, I left it in for anybody who might like it more. I would personally reccomend the less noisey/sharp version however.
Delete:
Remove files "hairlong.dds" and "hairlong_n.dds" from textures>actors>character>hair
