Well it me 3 years to try it and bow was i let down buy a mod all i can say is looks grand but the AI is to over powered and for me i wold like to get a hit in once in a while and as far as dialog goes to dam long winded with a shoddy ending.
But i am keeping the mod to edit the armor to my liking and no i am not uploading it i do have respect to the creator.
well that is my 2 cents.
I read somewhere that you want to be a game programmer well you are half way there yes only half way.

The story leaves you feeling very powerless and makes you feel like your actions have no consequence and the 'power levels', I guess, are completely off. I'm going to go ahead and say what I mean. The story's bad and I wouldn't recommend it for the story, especially if you're looking for an interactive experience because here your choices don't really matter.
Spoilers so don't read if you're interested in playing the mod and wanted a spoiler-free review.

For starters, I don't get why they won't just straight up attack Amber Creek, but they go attack Borvald. I thought, 'oh maybe Amber Creek is just really strong.'
Later on, they attack Amber Creek and kidnap the Jarl's wife and child easily. Which is funny because every one of the Jarl's buddies didn't want to accompany you on the previous quest because they had to protect Amber Creek, and other varying reasons. So very clearly, they failed. Yet, somehow no one's died from this complete failure.

After that, we go rescue them and clear a WHOLE fort full of not one dozen, but DOZENS of enemy troops. Then we're confronted by Yngvarr and a measly dozen of troops. Agnar's just bending over backwards despite us fighting a whole fort. He just hands over the keys and completely invalidates all that work we've done up until this point. Okay, maybe we're all just tired, clearing that fort was no mere feat and we've been through some rough battles, but no. Yngvarr, alone, leaves with the keys and all his goons stay behind and attacks us. We manage to get through that COMPLETELY fine. No serious injuries, no deaths, completely unscathed and everyone's ready to confront Yngvarr after that. No fatigue at all. Agnar's wife and child are safe. It just really makes you think that there was no real threat and nothing to worry about and that Agnar begging Yngvarr not to hurt his family was pointless. We could've taken Yngvarr out right then and there and the story would be done.

There are a lot of games that make you collect these important items to stop the main antagonist and at the very end, despite your efforts, he gets them all. I don't necessarily hate it and I think it can be done right, but some stories make you really feel like you wasted your time and this story especially does that. The way Yngvarr got all the keys here is so unjustified considering we killed his entire entourage with no injuries.
I think it would've been better if there were deaths. At one point, the story has you pick between two options on who to follow. Imagine the impact you would feel if the group you didn't follow failed and died or at least one of them died at the hands of Yngvarr himself. They died because they didn't have your help, your actions led to this, Yngvarr's threat would be more intimidating. That would be far more interesting the Jarl (I forget who exactly said it) who said, oh it doesn't matter who you follow, one place just has more magical enemies and the other physical. Basically telling you that 'hey, your choice here ultimately doesn't matter in the grand scheme of this story and if you think it might've, you're wrong. You just get to pick what you fight.'

Overall, it just feels like your presence at Falskaar doesn't matter. Valfred could've escaped without your warning because your warning didn't matter. Agnar and co would've gotten the keys without you, etc. etc.

The mod begins by trapping you in a room you can't escape from and locking your character's movement and agency while an NPC talks at you. Eventually, after you agree to do what he tells you to do because the game won't allow you to keep playing unless you do, you can begin the gameplay proper. It's a depressingly accurate introduction into the storyline of this mod.

Falskaar is a beautiful, but sparsely populated, island full of bears, trolls, and spiders. There are some politics going on as well but it's mostly long walks through a land filled with bears, trolls, spiders, and not much else of interest. The lack of variety for random encounters may have been a result of entering the mod with a higher-level character, as the NPCs who would happily reward me with a hundred or so septims for completing their quest seemed oblivious to the fact that I had been slaying dragons mere hours before. The dungeons that do exist are clearly designed for a 'direct combat' sort of approach, and are frequently placed staring directly at the only entrance to their particular room. Unless you have an ample supply of potions of invisibility, any kind of stealth is basically going to be impossible. The number of escort missions is depressing, as is the tendency of the game to lock you out of progression until you've sat still for it's exposition.

It's probably not a bad mod, if you're interested in lore and immersion over gameplay, are low enough level that an endless army of bandits wearing fur armor sound intimidating rather than amusing, and don't particularly care about alchemy or stealth. Unfortunately I am none of those things, so I found this mod somewhat lacking.

Third time is a charm, I guess. I had originally installed Falskaar a year ago, and removed it because I couldn't get Borvald to trigger correctly, and nothing seemed to work after that. I disabled it and went back to it a couple of months later after cleaning it with TESVEdt. Another mistake. So I kept looking at reviews and players saying all the time how great the mod was, and decided to try it again. I don't know how or why, but this time the mod worked flawlessly, and I was able to play the quests all the way though. So, I believe I finished the whole thing in one day and there seems to be nothing left to accomplish, except for the occasional bandit encounters. There seems to be a lot of unused worldspace, and I hope the author might consider adding more adventure and/or dungeons, or maybe even a dragon or two. Otherwise it is a quick mod, and when finished, seems to be no real reason to go back to Falskaar for anything. Just sayin'. Otherwise, it's very nicely done (if you can overlook some of the voice acting) .;-)

Falskaar is like an old German sports car, a '68 Porsche 911 e, or a BMW Alpina 323 if you will. it is a technological marvel full of features that are ahead of its time. it is beautifully made, engineered to the point of perfection, and a stunning sight to behold. Every part is cared for and maintained meticulously. it is polished and loved, yet it sits in the garage because there are so many little things wrong with it that it does nothing but frustrate you to the point of rage. any reader who has owned an old European car will know what I'm talking about. I have just described falskaar...I want to be there so badly but all I can do is wander through and admire the time and effort that went into it because it is so broken that it will not do what it was designed for. there are no dogs here because there is an angry bear every fifty meters and they have eaten all the dogs and if the bear did not get them the spiders (who seem to be in league with the bears as they work in pairs) did. the bandits are all but unstoppable, it is tedious, because with all dragonbone 100 level heavy armor, 100 level two handed, and 100 level archery, it takes eight to ten critical strikes to kill most of them (and there are ALOT of them). add having to repeat most of the major quests in the story twice to trigger the lengthy conclusion (that you are required to listen to by being frozen). not terribly friendly to follower mods but horse mods work well. some sound issues like a continuous hissing sound, and many other things made me give up after tolerating it almost to the end. don't get me wrong, these issues don't outweigh the positive elements by a longshot. it is overwhelmingly brilliant, and well put together, but the lack of playability is the critical flaw. and no matter how excellent a game looks and sounds, no matter how carefully a world is programmed and textured, it is a game and needs to be played, otherwise all you have is an awesome car that sits in the garage to be looked at and never driven. in short...please release a serious patch. if I have been insulting, that is not my intention. I am just offering my honest opinion.

I'd add tunnels, lots and lots of long tunnels to go through. The voice acting also leaves a lot to be desired. The Jarl's bad Swedish(?) accent, Svea(the proprietor of the General Store in Amber Hold) sounds like a bad attempt at a valley girl voice, I wanted to kill her after the first conversation.
So many "Bandits" that just kind of decided that now would be a good time to go out for a cigarette break or something, come upon them and they're just standing there talking to...no one.

Also just my opinion, but there are way too many urns, burial urns and chests scattered through the mod. I've always treated the chests etc as a nice little bonus but Jesus, how many "Flawless Diamonds" does Falskaar have just lying around?
One more and then I'll stop. Quest: Deliver Svea's armor to the black smith for repair, blacksmith says it'll take a couple of hours to repair the "quest" continues with "Wait a couple of hours for repair". What?

This quest mod provided a couple of hours of entertainment specially with the interesting main and side quests. Although I had the feeling that the land was kind of liveless when I went to Falskaar. Some scenes in the main quest were quite unexpected which was great, for exemple when the bad guy asked for me to duel him, I felt like the main quest line was as much or even more interesting than some quest lines in vanilla. I loved the soundtrack specially the music that played on my house I bought in the main village which was also a nice feature. Concisely it was one of the best quest mods i played, would play it again in some time, and I´m definitely going back to falskaar just to listen to the music.

I really enjoyed your work. I made it through the main quest portion with a few hiccups mainly from attacking my own team in the battles no matter how careful I tried to be, LOL. There were a few tricky parts but I usually found a way to force the quest ahead. There was quite a unique feel to the story that was just what I wanted on this playthrough of Skyrim, something good but different. Thank you for all of your hard work.
