    Any chance of lockpick version?

The description says that this is compatible with all other mods, but does it actually work with them?

What I mean is, I use Legendary Skyrim Crossbows and Bows as well as Perkus Maximus, both of which add a huge variety of arrows and bolts into the game. Will this mod also change the weight of the arrows/bolts introduced by those mods?

EDIT: It appears to work. At least with a basic iron crossbow bolt. I don't see why it wouldn't work with other ammo types added by my mods, either.

I've tried 3 different arrow weight mods. None have worked. I'm at my wits end lol
The Gold Weight mod works perfectly and was an easy setup. I don't know why I can't get arrows to weigh anything. Surely it's a mod conflict, but what other mod do I have that would force arrows to weigh nothing? It's baffling.

The range of weight for a single arrow ranges from .1 to 1.0 in the MCM menu with a default value of .3. For my purposes these weights are too heavy. I wanted something in the range of .005 to .01, so I went into Tes5Edit and changed the default value from .3 to what I wanted (.01). In game, the MCM shows the default to be 0.0, but the weight I entered is reflected properly in my carryweight. In the MCM the weight can only be changed to the mod's value range, but if the default value is changed in Tes5Edit and ignored in the MCM menu, the script works with other values.

Update: To get a somewhat accurate weight for game arrows I looked at the ingredients for Nicos Craftable Arrows. All recipes call for 2 ingots of different metals and 1 ingredient, usually nirnroot. The weights of those ingredients total to 2.2. Since the recipe produces 100 arrows, each must weight about .022 on the theory that the end result can't be more than the raw materials. I doubled that to represent the wood not included in the recipe. Firewood weighs 5, so if all the wood were included, it would add .05. I assume lots of waste and so ended with an arrow weight of .044. To be really nerdy about this, nothing accounts for quivers, but I just assume their weight is included in the weight of the bow. YMMV.

Obviously one could argue endlessly over the proper in-game weight of an item, since Skyrim weights have no units (pounds or kilos) and more reflect encumbrance. That said, I'd personally base any calculation on standard recipes than something from a player-created mod. Dawnguard arrow crafting uses 1 firewood (weight 5) + 1 ingot (weight 1) to make 24 arrows, or weight 0.25 per arrow, pretty close to this mod's default 0.3. Waste, particularly on the wood, would reduce that but from this viewpoint a minimum weight of 0.1 doesn't seem high. Just another way of looking at it. Of course gaming should be fun, and players who want very lightweight (or weightless) arrows should go with whatever they like.

Just to add to the fun of discussing imaginary game item weights and for those that like to imagine various roleplaying scenarios or constraints, one thing not really accounted for in Skyrim's inventory system is bulk. Depending on the metric you use, you might not find it plausible to carry around hundreds of arrows. Depending on what other mods you use, a weight (or 'burden' if you include bulk) of 0.1 might not be so hard to believe.

Rather than fiddle around with weight values too much, I went for a simpler solution: applying a global 50% modifier to weight, giving me a 150 starting weight and halving all other carry capacity gains, which in turn makes all items more burdensome -- everything except arrows, of course, which is where this mod comes in.

Another option I'm entertaining is to simply impose a limit on myself and restrict myself to carrying a certain amount of total ammo, like maybe 20% of total weight, or 50 total, or something like 10% base + 10% free weight, etc., just like back in the days when we had to roleplay mostly in our heads :) No mod installation necessary! Sniping with archery becomes much more exciting when you know you have to make every shot count with a pool of a few dozen arrows, and it may make those ammo retrieval perks more valuable for the rarer arrow types.

You both have raised legitimate points, but what I hadn't included in my original post was was that I basically use SkyTest mod carry weights, so the normal 300 is nonexistent. In fact my character starts with a carry weight of 35. I don't have to worry about bulk (or heavy armor for that matter), but I do have to be concerned about every fraction. I've since ended up with an arrow weight of .05 which works well for me. I hadn't noticed the arrow crafting in Dawnguard, but I use Nicos, so that was my goto for info.

Here's an SSE conversion of the mod. If you want to do it yourself for simple mods like this, use a BSA extractor and extract everything to folders, delete the BSA, then open the mod in latest Creation Kit and save.

    https://app.box.com/shared/static/f9qudqaqkaunr7t2709xwnwl08knguir.zip

Installs fine in my Mod Organizer 2 but it should work in anything else too. Has loose script files so manual installation is not ideal. Be sure to use the SkyUI MCM mod disable option if you want to uninstall, so it corrects your weight before saving. I haven't tested extensively with SSE but testing with some console-hacked ammo seems to work fine.

There are some quirks with this mod that I believe are due to the mod getting past the game engine's own quirks; The arrows still show up as zero weight regardless of the setting, and your inventory weight is only updated after opening or closing it. Based on what I can tell from the script, it uses the keyword VendorItemArrow to calculate your ammo count (so it works on DLC and proper ammo mods) and then ModifyActorValue InventoryWeight based on that. It doesn't look like it affects followers.

If you look at the game's ammo data in Creation Kit or SSE Edit, ammo actually has a weight of 0.1, but it shows up as 0 in-game, so this is probably why the mod works this way.

If you or the mod don't uninstall correctly, you can safely correct your inventory weigh by using the console command: player.modav inventoryweight X

    "Issues: None"

So i assume this works on followers as well? so their carry weight is actually reduced by the amount of ammo they carry?

I dont know how to check the vendoritem tag, so ill ask Would the bone arrows from 'frostfall' and perfect bone arrows from 'hunterborn' count (there not sold anywhere, is that the clue?).

A handy, simple and elegant immersion mod. My only wish, is arrows could be set below .1, but its not a deal-breaker. I was hoping they could be set to .05 per.

It is too bad the bulk of the player base prefers patently un-realistic game play weights and features, or this would have gotten a lot more attention. But you know, easy-mode.....
