I always hated the steel quiver.
It looks silly and cartoonish.
Unfortunately steel arrows are abudant throughout the game, especially at low-mid levels.
So I messed around with the ancient nord and steel meshes/textures.
This is the result.
TWO VERSIONS:
No arrows FINAL
Only changes the quiver, default steel arrows
With arrows v5
Changes both quiver and arrows(to modified ancient nord arrows)

Steel band resolution and colour reduced to match other textures
New arrows more smooth and less ruined
Plastic wrap shine adjusted to good levels especially on wood
Fixed arrows not showing the correct mesh once shot
Fixed arrows/no arrows version mixup

WARNING
It replaces the vanilla steel quiver and/or arrows (depends on the version you choose)
IT DOES NOT replace or alter the regular ancient nord quiver and arrows in any way.
Basically now you have an ancient version and a modern steel one(ancient nord-steel), just like for the steel armor (nordhero/draugr vanilla armor and nord steel armor).

Download only if you don't like the default steel arrow quiver.
As of now the mod isn't an improvement over it, just a replacer.
INSTALL

Drop the folders in your Skyrim/Data.
UNINSTALL
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Delete the following:
\Skyrim\Data\textures\weapons\nordhero:
nordheroarrows.dds
nordheroarrows_n.dds
nordheroarrows_m.dds
and
\Skyrim\Data\meshes\weapons\steel:
steelarrow.nif
steelarrowflight.nif
