Exactly what I came here to ask. Wondering if I should just load the assets as loose files after deleting those scripts. The author has made a post below which seems to be effectively the same thing.
Fastest fix is to load the loose version of the racemenu script after this using Mod Organizer or some other program. And to answer that question, my guess is the author thought it was a good idea at the time.
I hate this make this comment but I direly need your help. No matter what I do, the SKSE tweak does not work. I have checked the encoded language, which is UTF-8. SKSE is installed properly with the exe. The SKSE.ini file is in /Skyrim/Data/SKSE. I have installed loose base scripts and I am using the latest version of RaceMenu. I tried every single version of your HD warpaint modules, installed through NMM. I even installed the SKSE.ini file from your optional files, but the warpaints are still blocky. What else can I do?
Before complaining and whining that this mod doesn't work,
READ THIS AND DO EXACTLY WHAT IT SAYS!
If you do exactly as it says, it WILL WORK!! I can't stress this enough...
For anyone having issues getting this mod to work, simply make sure you have the latest RaceMenu installed (by expired6978), after that make sure you have his Loose Base Scripts v3-1-0 also installed. From there simply find the 'Makeup' section within RaceMenu itself, pick one of the available slots, press ' T ' and scroll down until you see the desired Battle Hardened Warpaint that you want! You can layer multiple warpaints using this method as well!
If you use Mod Organizer, it's much simpler to just move RaceMenu after Battle Hardened Warpaints so that RaceMenu overwrites this mod. Then no further steps are needed.
HOW. DO. YOU. INSTALL? Everything I've tried hasn't worked, from manually to using NMM it won't work. I did all the fixes in the comments and I can't do anything with the makeup tab, it's empty and pressing T does nothing. It would really fucking help if somebody could actually go into detail about how to install this mod, instead of having some outdated install info in the description.

I find myself missing it in SSE. Can we expect a port at some point?
I bet it wont take more than 10 minutes.
