02/16/2015 As asked, I do a harder version of the battle. Now Renegan and his undead, only undead, minion will be respawn in each version. Time : game default time of respawn. Lesser minion was separeted of the main file.
16/02/2015 Comme demandé, une version plus difficile de la bataille a été crée (harder version). Dans chaque version, Renegan et ses sousfifres de type mort-vivant réapparaissent. Durée : celle du jeu par défaut. La version avec moins de subalterne a été séparée du dossier principal.
Sometimes I hit him with my shield 2 or 3 times and my player dies..... Sometimes I do a power attack (1 or 2 hand weapon) and my player dies.... Is it possible?!?!?
For your problem, there is no element of the mod that allow a situation like this, except a protection spell in melee. If you have others elements, give it to me.
Ok..... You're right.... I remember that a situation like that appened even with the Vanilla Ebony warrior (around level 90...).... Anyway... the same problem did not appear with other boss mods.... I will try again changing load order or deselecting other mods...
The boss probably has a perk "Reflect Blows" that sends back damage to the person dealing it (I'm only guessing, I did not check in Creation Kit). If you have a strong weapon, a good deal of that damage can go back to you and kill your character. This does not happen all the time due to it only occurring a certain percentage of the time. The Ebony Warrior does indeed have this and this is probably what triggers that. The mod itself is probably working fine but that perk can be pesky if a boss (especially if they have a large health pool) has it. If the perk is removed from the boss, this will probably stop occurring. This was the case for me on one of my personal mods that had a boss as well.
I liked the Hard version of the mod, but I found it too easy. I suggest giving the boss, Renegan Kroo, to have way more HP. I slaughtered all the minions, only to find that, among those minions was the boss. Besides that, awesome mod, 7/10.
Just a side note, I'm extremely OP, but by regular means, lvl 215 everything well geared and Enchanted.

Endorsed. hard but not impossible, i had to retreat home, ask my steward to come along and still was tough. In the end i made it, steward low hp, after dying 3 times (essential). Quite fun, liked a lot
One of the most challenging boss fights on the Nexus! I'm level 222 and enchantment-wise overpowered defensively and offensively and yet i lost my first game, because i underestimated my opponents, and especially Renegan, by taking my time and experimenting with all my weaponry! In the last battle i activated ebony warrior and it was even more terrific when renegan and ebony stopped fighting each other and both came at me! Needles to say I had to kill both of them. I really enjoyed the mod, but something tells me not many players will survive the challenge... Well done! Endorsed
Went against him first time as archer, won easily. Went to go do it as dual wield, however his paralysis spell is just ridiculous. one hit , 5 seconds or so of paralysis, i'm dead. Go get atronachs stone, come back to try dual wielding again, para-chained to death.
I tested myself in double style weapons. Like many things in Skyrim, it may tweak or adapt. For example, while remaining simple, to ensure that attention is Renegan on someone else with a conjured creature or a companion (choose the right) or enchantment and dodge (it is best to have a bit of everything ;p). However, it is true that this style of fighting is less obvious than another melee style or distance.

Renegan Kroo is more powerfull in harder version.
