GAME PLAY

The den will require you to complete a quest to acquire it. See below for full details. The quest itself will hint as to what is needed to achieve the objectives, so if you wish to discover it in game, only read the initial line to get started.

Features of the Den:
The den offers a number of fantastic features which are great for any player home and support the theme of the den.

- All traditional crafting stations
- Space for 8 followers
- Space for 6 kids with family support via Hearthfire multiple adoptions mod
- New soulgem forge to combine smaller gems into larger ones
- New enchantment dispelling font that erases enchantments from player made items
- New Arcane replicator font that allows crafting of various quest item replicas for display
- Display storage chests that hold your collections AND displays them around the den
- Sorting chest system that magically sorts any item you place in it into its appropriate storage and display chest and refreshes the displays.
- Magical healing pool that restores health, stamina, magicka and cures poison and disease. Also gives a small boost to recovery rates and resistances for a period of time.
- Massive treasury to display most unique items
- Faction aware displays
- Gold horde to store and display up to 2 million gold
- Dovahcloset dressing system that lets you store or equip up to 18 outfit setups with a couple menu clicks.

Storage and display:

The den comes equipped with a number of generic display containers scattered throughout the den which are merely labeled chest, safe, sack etc, which are for storage needs as you see fit. There are a number of labeled containers which are designated for particular items. These containers will automatically display items placed inside of it throughout the den. Food placed in the cooked food container will fill the dining table, vegetables will fill the prep area and raw meats will fill the cooler, etc.

Containers:

Raw food
Cheese
Cooked food
Cooking ingredients
Dishes
Clutter
Ingots
Raw materials and ore
Leather and animal parts
Gems
Ingredients
Potions
Poisons
Elixirs
Soul gems
Staves
Weapons (one for each material type)
Main hall relic and replica displays
Treasury replica displays
Artifact weapons
Artifact armors
Daedric artifacts
Clothes
Armor storage
Weapon storage
Books
Journals and notes
Recipes
Magical Amulets
Jewelry
Keys

There is also a magical sorting chest found in the main hall, treasury and cavern area. When you place items inside one of these chests and activate the stone next to it, the chest will be enveloped in a magical field blocking access to the three chests while it sorts all items into its appropriate chest throughout the den. After its done sorting, the displays are all updated and the sorting chests magical field disperses. This process can take a few minutes if filled with hundreds of different items, so be aware. Also note that the sorting chests will place ALL weapons and armor into the weapon and armor storage rather than their individual display containers. This is because the sorting system is already very extensive and adding more lists to check would slow it down even more. Just grab these items from the storage chests in the treasury and place them in their appropriate display chests nearby.

Interacting with Displays:
Display items look like actual items. For all intents and purposes they are actual items which match what you stored. When you grab the display you are given one of that item from the container that holds it and if the container contains less than what is displayed, the displays start to disappear, so when the container is empty, there are no more displayed items of that kind. This also provides a highly immersive element to the den. Some items such as the weapon displays cannot do this because they operate on a totally different type of system which identifies models rather than items so that they can identify displayable items from other mods such as heavy armory or immersive weapons.

Display activators:
A few items such as the elder scrolls and black books have activators at their display which allow you to place and remove that item on display. This is simply because you cannot place a quest item inside a chest to display it.

Eagles Roost Tower:
The tower of Eagles rest not only offers the best view in Skyrim, but is also an astronomical ley point. The star font can be activated at night after the dragonborn main quest has been completed to enable or disable an array of skill constellations which allow for respecing your skills without having to travel to Solsthiem to use a black book to get back to Apocrypha.
Soul forge font:
Combines empty or filled soul gems of one type into a larger form of the same. Most are a 2 to 1 ratio, while some provide 2 for 3 based on the soul charge of the gems.

Arcane Replicator Font:
When you have obtained a quest item in the game which must be turned in to complete said quest, you will have the option to create replicas of that item. Not all quest items are supported, but most of the more interesting ones are. Simply craft the item and place it in the replica chest in the den bedroom. Thieves guild replicas can be displayed in the treasury replica chest.

Interactive lighting:
Most of the candles and sconces in the den can be activated or disabled simply by clicking on them. All the fireplaces can be activated with 4 firewood to allow them to burn for 4 hours before going out, creating a very immersive environment.

Fairy lights:
As you will have discovered from the main quest, fairy lights indicate where a hidden secret lies within the den. Using the manipulate space spell you can reveal these secrets. Using the spell again will conceal it once more. Some of these unlock hidden areas and others reveal hidden caches. The caches do not respawn so they are safe to use as storage after they are looted.

Acquiring the den requires you to begin a quest with a man named Holgrim who is at the winking skeever in Solitude. It also requires that you have some magic skill or find someone to help who does.

SPOILERS BEYOND:
Having trouble figuring out how to acquire the den? Heres a simple walkthrough
- Go to Holgrim upstairs at the winking skeever in solitude and talk to him. He will start the quest and give you his journal. Read it.
- Go to the Bards college and find a display case which has a copy of Yfrre and the Wild Hunt You can steal it if you like but only have to read it.
- Go to the Arcanaeum of the Winterhold College. This is where the quest will take TWO possible paths.

Magic User Path
- If you have 30 skill points in Illusion, Restoration, and Alteration you will find the manipulate space spell tome. After picking it up a note will fall out, read it.
- Using the clues you should now know that you must use Alteration, Restoration and Illusion spells to reveal the den.
- Go to the location of the Druids Den
- Cast manipulate space in front of each of the three guardian statues which have fairy lights glowing at the base to reveal the activation pedestals.
- The first guardian pedestal (by the road) requires and Illusion spell
- The second statue (with his back to the cliff, facing where the den should be) requires alteration
- The last statue (standing on the cliff edge looking out away from the den area) requires restoration
- You must cast a targeted spell of the given type on each pedestal to reveal the den. The pedestals require skill level 30 in each school in order to activate them.
- After the Den appears, the map marker will be available and the quest will complete.

NON Magic User Path
- If you DO NOT have 30 skill points in Illusion, Restoration, and Alteration you will find a letter to the librarian.
- After reading the letter it will tell you where to find the tome of Manipulate space
- Find the Tome in a lock box at the foot of the hilltop tower near Riften
- After reading the tome (its a normal book because you cant understand it as a spell tome). Go back to the college and look for Albrecht in the library.
- He will hire you to travel to the den with him and upon arriving he will play out a scene which will reveal the hidden pillars and activate them, revealing the den
- After the Den appears, the map marker will be available and the quest will complete, and Albrecht will be on his way
