This worked great for me but it seems like it's setting experience gains up on steroids. Like going from 79 to 80 in 2 handed in like 3 swings on a standard guard.
I did some experimenting and it appears that your skills will reset as usual if you choose the same race as your current one (let's say if you only wanted to change appearance and name but retain the race). after reloading a save, I chose a different race and changed my character's name and gender. There've been no problems so far, and npcs now refer to me by my new gender and race. All letters addressed to me in my storage have all been renamed as well (which is pretty cool tbh!)
The only thing that was strange was when I was exploring the holds to see if anything has changed; it appears that the new Jarl of Markarth (I gave Markarth to the Stormcloaks in this one quest) went through his whole dialogue again about my becoming thane (even though I've already purchased a house and had already become thane from the previous Jarl). I am unsure if this was because of this mod or another mod, either way there was no fuss and I became thane immediately and even got duplicates of the weapon.
I didnt belived to god until i found this mod you are a little god that saved my game i am a person who LOVES werewolves and wolves so i decided to found a wolf race for my game (Lykaios Reborn) to have combo with the Beast form so i putted that race i changed it and i got bug with the head so..yeah this mod FIXED everything i love you ^_^ ALSO it WORKED with Special Edition so yeah :3 <3
With this mod your skill levels aren't changed, but you still level up one level and all skills you've used get filled experience bars. That is exactly what happens when your skills are set to base values and keep their experience progress(You will level up in those skills immediately on next use). So this mod seems to set your skills back to their old values after the usual reset. It doesn't prevent it entirely.
This is what you have to do to avoid the skill reset: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=194775622
