Lydia and Kaylee mod won't work or CTD without ApachiiSkyHairFemale. The Apachii mod's full main file will not work, so search for ApachiiSkyHairFemale from the Apachii mod's file section.
For those seeing Lydia or Aela with the dark face: If you have any follower mods such as UFO, please make sure my mod is below them in the mod list when you view the Data Files list from the Skyrim launch window. If still dark face, try put my mod at the bottom. If at the bottom worked, you can try move my mod up until the dark face appears again. Move it down below the one made the dark face.
The UNP body may show some texture color band at the neck area when you extremely zoomed in.
This mod can be used with another Lydia mod as long as this is below all other Lydia mods. I put the skysan esp just below my Ufo esps (including dlc add-ons) but above the apachiihairstyles esp. For some reason it reverted Lydia back to her old self and added Kaylee as seen in the images. This is perfect for me as I like how Lydia looks with Bellas and Apachii but I also wanted Kaylee so, in my game, they're still twins, just not in appearance. Might work for others.
For Lydia and Kaylee, you must install the ApachiiSkyHairFemale download, and I updated the sticky above with the screen capture to the download file you must install.
If you followed the mod activation order I described, you may have the aela's face nif file (0001a696.nif) on your Skyrim/Data/meshes directory. This mod uses the bsa file for easy install and uninstall process, but another mod may have installed it loosely (mesh file to your Skyrim directory) or included in the bsa file and activated it before this mod.
I'm using ESF (Enhanced Skyrim Followers)it basically turns Aela into a Bioware follower, meaning she will comment on where you are, whats going on around you etc... I also use Better Females which might change her face
EDIT: Her face isn't dark brown I can see the freckles on her face and the esp is right under the Lydia and Kaylee esp which at the very bottom of my load order
CK does have a limitation on the Actor property which CK saves "all" settings including the face setting when you only updated the other setting. When ESF added the Bioware follower change on Aela, the author modified the Aela's Factions setting. Even when that mod did not modify the face setting, CK saved the game default face setting. When you ordered the ESF after this mod to get the Bioware follower change, it overwrote this mod's face setting and the brown face would show up.

they do even crash WITH Apachii skyHair because the ESM there is named ApachiiHair.esm. your mod is looking for ApachiiHairFemales.esm. no idea where you found that ESM. just installing the ApachiiSkyHair will not work !!!

@skysan4298 I already have a Lydia mod that I like, but I would like to try your Kaylee companion as well. If I load this one first and my old one after, will I preserve my old Lydia and add Kaylee? If not, would you be willing to make a Kaylee-only alternative version of this that does not alter Lydia at all?
I need to think hard about having just the Kaylee mod. If you visit my uploaded pics, Lydia is the dearest NPC to me in Skyrim. I panic when Lydia is not following or get killed. Kaylee is more so because she is a little sister of Lydia, and I mentally promised to Lydia I would take care of her. Call me a psycho, but this is why I used the bsa format and not doing an adult version.
I understand perfectly about not wanting to make a so-called "adult" version. If you decide not to make a Kaylee standalone mod, do you think that loading my other Lydia mod after this one would let me have your new Kaylee and my old Lydia? I am kind of attached to my version of Lydia as well!

Aela mod will not work or CTD without Ponytail Hairstyles, and this Aela mod uses the main download file.
