This works perfectly, also in SE. Unfortunately we can't change the fate of Thorald, who will join the Stormcloaks, as he is afraid to go back to his family.
i just recently downloaded this a few days ago and had redownloaded it several times. i'm not getting the prompts to start the quest passively. general tal only gives the option to make me join the legion and even when i spawn in the order to "fix" the issue the thalmor gatekeeper tells me to follow him but then i imediately get attacked when i enter. i also tried to reload and see if he'll walk without me but again he'll just stand there and i'll be attacked again. Even having the patch doesnt automatically fix this issue and from recent logs it says there have been fixes but from older post by others it still seems to be a persisting bug. I also havent joined any sides, havent killed any sides, and have even stayed off from doing the main quest in general to take my time while having fun doing little side quests every now and then. From what others have said and my own experience it seems like its 50/50 on fixes and to say that the patch will fix it automatically isnt enough to deter me from feeling like the developer(s) have messed up. Otherwise its back to the old school mayham and hopefully this will be fully resolved by the time i want to do a complete re-playthrough.
you need to talk to Tullius twice. The first time he talks about Helgen, the second time he has all kind of dialogs available. OR check if another mod changes Tulllius' dialog.
It'd be cool if you could steal thalmor robes or legion armor to infiltrate the fort, with funny dialogue checks and alternate ways to get in and out. *Sigh* I'm gonna get that order so I can kill every single thalmor anyway.
I agree. This is great as a mod so that people don't have to resort to violence, but when the author says that Bethesda was wrong for doing it that is what is actually wrong. Of course Tullius won't give some random an order to release a political prisoner.
However, Bethesda could have made that fact more obvious or perhaps if one has a high enough speech skill or standing in the province one could convince Tullius.
I tend to agree, but on the other hand, a speech option would have made sense. Speech you convince Tullius because he doesn't like the Thalmor more than anyone else, and intimidate you can tell him you are going to make the information public, and nobody is going to like that the Empire takes orders from the Thalmor.
