FYI, I got it working fine on the Steam version of Enderal SE.
The controlmap.txt already existed in steamapps\common\Enderal Special Edition\Data\Interface\controls\pc
I replaced it with this mod's text file, launched the game with my controller OFF, remapped some keys, closed and relaunched the game with controller on-- bam --keys and controller working in harmony.
I know this is really specific, but if you have a Dualshock 4 controller and want to add extra bindings to it so that you're able to use more favorite hotkeys, use this mod and the Steam controller config. You can edit the touchpad to be at least 4 extra buttons ( I swipe up / down for different favorites, and click left / right for 2 more). It's possible to do 6, but I've found swiping left to right / right to left to be unreliable. So, in total with this setup, you get 4 extra favorite slots at minimum on controller. Not bad.
1) Go to your Skyrim special edition data folder, 2) Open data folder, then open interface folder 3) Create a folder inside interface folder and name it "Controls", then inside that folder you just created create another folder and name it "PC" 4) Download this mod manually and extract it somewhere 5) Put "controlmap.txt" inside it 6) Done, go play with your controller and keyboard.
Thank you! Hang on, don't download. This mod caused many many crashes in SSE. I got logs for days. Log files if you need proof. Notice a recurring feature? https://gofile.io/d/PcFWsb
The camera will go wild if you touch the mouse, but (at least on SSE) the game will crash if you turn your mouse of, so put your mouse somewhere you dont accidentally touch it
The instructions say to delete the 8th column values for every record in the file. I don't want to do that because I don't want to enable KB control of (for example) AWSD [instead of/in addition to] left analog stick for character movement.. I actually just want to enable a couple of things I can't do with my controller, specifically Auto-Move, Toggle Always Run and Run.
But when I do that I can't load the game. Does anyone know if there is a way to selectively enable just a couple of KB functions or does it literally have to be all-or-nothing as the instructions here imply?
No, your response is the first I have received. Are you saying that you can now switch the auto-move action from the default run to just a walk, while your controller is enabled and controlling direction and camera angle as usual? If so, please advise exactly which hotkeys you removed the flag from- I might be misinterpreting the labels, for example, "Run" and "Always Run" are ambiguously named...
A screenshot of your controlmap.txt would be great, or just upload it and link me to it. Thanks.
Hey Vyxenne, ça va? I had to look everywhere for your comment, I didn't remember if it was here on LE that I first saw it. So, did you manage to make it work? Because I did on my side. I just removed the 8th column for all the keys except the ones that I didn't want working at the same time (specially the mouse). Here's my controlmap.txt (better to copy it and look at it on notepad++ for the sake of formatting): https://pastebin.com/R56fccSN
PS: Be careful if using my controlsmap because I unbound the tween menu because I'm using the Steam Action Layers for infinite control combinations with configuration on the fly.

EDIT: removed the flag only from the hotkeys and game works fine. maybe you had a syntax error somewhere?
