Having issues startin the quest the guy just keeps repeating ive did clean save before getting to the shack ive ive added patch 1.6. command console setstage 000str01 10 says invaled quest parameter or i might not be inputting it correctly as ive never tried to start a quest that way any suggestions pm me if you like might have a resolve as im only usually able to use the console for spells or items
Actually the 1.6 may be causing the issue if you've downloaded the file at the top which is 1.7. Try removing 1.6 and see if that works and if not then just reinstall with 1.7 [the mod not skyrim]
i think i got a problem... the shack is locked! do i need a key for it? or how can i enter it? also i didn't get a quest if thats important. maybe its because i used my Xbox 360 savefile? if thats the case... how can i start it manually? could you please help me? i always wanted to see the tarm ruins in a 3d game.
edit: i finally was able to open the door! (well... i looked at the handle and there were 2! two doors... the locked door and the enterable door were there at the exact time! after entering it the subrosian spoke with me. well... not really. he didn't have a voice! and his mouth didnt even move! also after listing to everything he said, he started it all over again! it didn't stop. then i pressed B (i use a X360 controller for skyrim) and i could walk again. after that i went into the teleport and atleast it worked! but after dying and reloading my save in the cave(i think?) it was all blurry. i couldn't see a thing. so after reloading a older save i tried doing the little jump and run and managed to do it! then i entered the other teleport and got warped there (i think) but there was no ground! only water! well... the stairs existed. but there was a flying locked gate. (i guess there was ground too...) so after that i gave up. looks like the mod glitched out on me! is it not compatible with... maybe these mods?: Evil mansion final edition, Falskaar and Crescent island (yes i activated the part 2 together with part 1)
Sorry I'm late... The reason the door was locked was because u have Part 2 still active, and having both active while doing part 1 will cause major issues cause I imported certain things over, which is why I locked the door. But I didnt think the ground would be gone...Anyways the reason why u had the blur screen was because of death by lava more or less....if thats how u died. if not then I have no clue why it done that. Using a 360 save file shouldnt cause issues but I really dont know since Ive never used one my self to test. But the quest line is OOSTR 10, if that dont work then OOAST01 10. Hope that helped
ah. okay! i thought i could use both parts at the same time... you should probably write into the description don't use part 2 before you haven't completed part 1 or else it will glitch. now that i know it... im smarter! thanks for your reply! edit: i made a new save. and now he did speak with me (hooray! ) but... it doesn't end.(i know someone else said it already) it goes back to the ... and i didn't get a quest. so i still went into the teleport and managed to do the jump and run without failing! (yahoo! ) and then i went into the next teleport and... the ground was there! i tested it with my bow and spells too... and it was solid! but my follower dissapeared :/ (poor tormented soul... ) anyways. everything worked. well... except... i couldn't interact with the gates! (i think another mod is doing this.) but i still was able to get behind it (thanks to the varia jump boots! ) and i also found every key for the gates. then i went to the sacred grounds and i think... there was a uhm... shrine? (or something like that? ) that i could press A on. but nothing happened. so i went back to the tarm ruins and... auto save saved aaaand... it was all blurry! i couldn't even load my save or open my item menu :/. okay. aaand... done! i finally defeated the tarm ruins boss. but... he didn't really activate! i also only needed i think... 3 hits (?) to defeat him. and his body (except arms, hands, feets, legs and his head) was invisible! also after his dialog he kept on speaking! (the same as with the subrosian) anyways. after defeating him i got the uhm.. road to ruin (i think it was?) Quest. and then i used the teleport and was teleported near the marker to solstheim.(i hope this intended) and i swam in the sea. ... okay not really. i loaded my save before entering the teleport and went back the way i got to the tarm ruins. and then i spoke to the subrosian again but... the quest didn't say completed! (well... one quest thats going to be kept in my quest book :/) anyways. this mod was great! (even with the glitches.) so maybe... i would give ya 9/10 points needs a working quest activation and completed. and... maybe make it so the teleport wouldnt put you almost out of the world? (i almost believed i was outside the world border! even though this can't be. because i don't use the mod that does this) maybe... make it so it puts you back to the subosian home? (or infront of it) other then that. i loved this mod! time to endorse it!
HaHa thanks man, I enjoyed reading the review, Ive fixed that invisible cloak several times, its as simple as going into the CK, Finding the character and hitting F7...I think F7. But the dialogue was always a hard part and the teleport to the far north was intended for that whole "Welcome Back" kinda feel. Either way I'm glad you enjoyed it with Bugs and all HaHa, But I thought I had that labeled in the Read Me but I'll go double check and put it on this page that you must have this one first or else weird stuff will happen.
readme? i downloaded it with NMM. so... aha! so i should have manually installed it? :/ well whatever. oh. that was intended! for someone (like me) it gave me a big jumpscare! XD i thought i was OoB. one little question: can i activate tcl while im in the air? (i might try part 2 now too) i need to know so that i could try to see in part 2 if the island appears if im going near it.
Oh no you don't have to use TCL to get near or see the island since its located in a completely different zone. But fair warning, the one with LOD can/may cause a lot of insane bugs. I planned to do a play thru video so people can see what a smooth play thru will look like but Im currently working on another project so it may be a few weeks but hopefully soon.

I didn't find anybody else with my issue. I installed the mod (but haven't started the quest yet) and started playing Dawnguard for the first time.
**SOME DAWNGUARD SPOILERS***
During the Chasing Echoes quest you go to the vampire castle in the back way and find your way to the courtyard. When this mod is active the grass disappears in the courtyard and you can fall down through below. This breaks the quest because Serana also falls down. You can also see the pathway to the caverns below which ruins the surprise. Is this expected behaviour?
This is the first Ive ever heard of this, I didn't even have this issue and Ive played thru with multiple characters. It may have something to do with the load order or you may be have another conflicting mod that when mine is active and the other one is it causes bugs. thats unlikely but anything can happen. I'm gonna put my money on load order. Theres a few great programs that does this, the one I use is Skyrim Config. Let me know if this helps
I'm using Mod Organizer. I disabled all of my mods one by one to find the one that was causing the issue. With every mod disabled except for Tarm Ruins, the grass mesh in the courtyard disappears. I don't see how it can be an issue of mod order if it's the only enabled mod...
...well, except for skyui and the official HRP. I don't have Mod Organizer currently managing those mods. But regardless, this mod is loaded after those at the end.
I was thinking that if you happened to have something that modded textures installed but I think I may know what could be causing the issue, I'll be doing a clean install soon and Ill have just the DLC and my mods active and go to the Castle to see if I will get the same thing. But if its what I'm thinking it is then I'm hoping it's a small simple fix but at least I have an idea. Worse case would be to just disable my mod for temporary time to get thru that part until I'm able to resolve the issue. Sorry you're having this problem

Try this new .ESP update in the downloads and let me know how it works. I'll be installing it to my new PC tomorrow and see if I can get it to cause problems to see if this fixes it.
So I have dispatched the brother and returned to the shack in the woods. Is talking to the guy in the shack supposed to trigger anything? All I get is a cyclical dialog with the quest icon staying above the guys head.
It should honestly just end the quest and say complete, I think I had put the command lines in the Read me or the About somewhere just in case you get bugs you can force the quest to end. If you can't find it let me know and Ill see if I can pull it back up in the CK
I feel really stupid for asking this, but how do you actually start the quest? When I went to the Strange Shack, it's locked and requires a key. Any help is appreciated.

edit: i finally was able to open the door!
