The tool has been massively updated for Fallout4, and is fully compatible with Skyrim, (and also, Fallout NewVegas)

-go to the page of Fallout4Translator http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/215/?
-Download the latest version of Fallout4Translator
-Start the tool, a dialog box will ask you for the workspace you want.

All new stuff is in the Fallout4Translator patch Note (changelog tab, on nexus)
Also Keep Track of the Fallout4Translator main page on nexus for updates, because I won't maintain the TesvTranslator page often.

Note: SST dictionaries from TesvTranslator 1.3.5 can be used without issue, but new SST files can't be opened by TesvTranslator 1.3.5, so keep a backup if you wish to still use the old version of the translator.

    New Main features:
    -Open Multi-files
    -Open Files directly from BSA
    -Advanced dictionaries
    -Undo (ctrl-Z)
    -SpellChecker (Hunspell or MSWord API)
    -RegEx search and translation
-Fuz mapping, play and listen fuz files for dialog translation
    -Improved Heuristic Suggestions
    -Updated/Improved Tools

You need to generate your dictionaries for this to work.

You need the esm to produce the advanced dictionaries.

If you want just the basic ones, you can set this when you generate them:
      -check: generate -> basic Dictionary
      -and uncheck "ignore basic dictionaries"

In both cases, you need to click on "Build dictionaries"

Hello, I'm using the tesvtranslator that comes inside the sseTranslator. And it's really easy to use! Thanks!
But I'm having some problems saving the files. How can I save my changes to the mcm menus as a txt file? It only gives me the option to reintegrate in the bsa archive and to finalize as pex.

Don't mind me. I've figured out on my own.
Needless to say, but this tool is amazing.

    Nice utility.
As a request, can you guys, make able to use the option of "cut-copy-paste" in the box of translate. This would be very useful when you r translating big text like books, notes or diarys and you have already the translate tex from somewhere else like a webpage, websites, forums, etc.
    greetings.

PD: Some know if it's posible to use an existing translate mod as reference to translating in newest version? I mean, USLEEP v 3.07 has been released, but the spanish version is on 3.06. IDK how import the translate from the spanish version 3.06, for the sake to updste to v 3.07 without have to make the entire job only with the skyrim strings....

copy paste works in textbox or list, (or I don't understand what you are asking for). Use ctrl-x/ctrl-c/ctrl-v.

also to import an old translation from a mod:
      ->open usleep 3.07 in english
->use menu ->tool -> espCompare, then load uspleep 3.06 in spanish
->verify and validate lines (press F1) with a warning (they should be ok, since it's the same mod with a close version)
      ->done

    Hi!
Is it possible to reverse SST? I mean swap original/translated. Or create 2 SST's - plugin_source_dest.sst and plugin_dest_source.sst?

    Hello,
Great tool. I have a bit of a problem though. The new version uses UTF-8 character encoding while .strings files created with previous version uses ANSI. If I convert the .strings file made by the previous version to UTF-8 a lot of special characters won't be recognised by _xTranslator. Neither if I just load the previous file. Should I try the previous version's Options - Utf8 - ForceUtf8 on Export menu item?

I have the complete translation of Skyrim in the various .strings files. Is it possible to convert these files to .esp file(s) so I can distribute it to console players? If so, how do I do that?

    Thanks.

I wrote an article about encoding issues here:

      http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/articles/5/

also it's not recommanded to do an esp only for strings changes in such scale, because this will override (or be overrided) by any other mods.

I have an xml file which combines the translations of all 15 strings of Skyrim together, but it has a lot of flaws.

Yesterday I downloaded the original Skyrim strings, and used the fallout4translator to apply the translation xml on the original strings, so that I could fix some of the flaws of the translation.

However, nothing happened after that I've imported the xml file with all the possible combinations of importing settings.

Then I tried to apply the xml to skyrim.esm to see if it was because I was translating strings, but still nothing happened.

    What did I do wrong?

      hard to say.
I don't know how those XML were done.
Also, you have more options if you load the .strings with the esm (meaning: load skyrim.esm instead of the .strings alone)

Never mind, I've decided to translate Skyrim on my own without using any xml.

A question though, how can I enlarge the font of TESVTranslator?

this is something that sleeps in my todo list since a very long time, but I never took the time to add the option. I can consider working on it soon.

Is there any way to "extract" the translations from patches?

    Example:
I download the english original file "Skyrim Project Optimization" and the german version.
It would realy help to update abaonded projects and translations, especially if the uploader don't exist anymore.

Ofcourse I would ask for permission for that.

      yes, you can, absolutely

it's better to have both esp (english and german) from the same version however.
      then do the following:

-set your source and dest language properly (english -> german)
      -Load your esp in english
-Go to menu -> Tool ->espCompare, then load your esp in german. Choose Overwrite everything.
-If some strings have some warning check them (it's mainly an issue if you don't have the same version of both esp, because some subrecords can be sorted differently)
      -Save your dictionary

Thanks for the info, have quite some repo now. Is it possible to merge ALL my .sst files into the .string file? And if yes, is there a possiblity to manage these files then? For example, some mods translated the Factions into german ones. I wanted to revert that (console porposes) to keep it uniformly.

Also, if I want to open bigger files (e.g. Dawnguard.esp) the TESVTranslator can't handle it. Why is that?

I quite don't understand what you want to do.
1): Tesvtranslator handles big files without known issue so far, it can open Fallout4.esm and the file weighs 300mo.
If you try to open *a lot* of big esps at one time, you may encounter some memory issues (since the exe is 32bit), but the limit is quite high.

2): you can't "merge" sst and Strings files, those files are quite different and have different purposes.
.strings file are localized texts for the game (used by localized esm such as Skyrim.esm, and DLCs esm), and sst files are dictionaries for the Translator.
What you need to do is to load your esp or esm, make your change, then export your work.
If the esm is localized, it will export .strings files, otherwise, all texts will be injected in the file directly.

Meh, may have expressed myself wrong. I wanted to make some kind of big translation library, mainly some kind of unified translation. It disturbs me, that many mods have different kind of translations for the exact same items or entities. Since I've made a giant modpack via the STEP guide (500+ mods) I wanted to have/make a complete german translation for all these mods. And for that I wanted to share these library, thus cutting out double/false translations like "Faction" etc.

you can unify your translation if you wish.
once you have a sst dictionary, you can "apply" it to any esp/esm.
go to vocabulary tab, right click on a dicitonary, select apply sst.
You can select the string selection or the method (formID only, string + formID, or string only)

if you have for example a dictionary with all factions translated as you wish, apply this sst on all esp that use factions and you are set.

Some part of this article http://www.nexusmods.com/fallout4/articles/88/? explain how apply sst works.
