Fantastic mod, exactly what I've been looking for. One problem though. It only works part of the time. For some reason I can fast travel occasionally without a horse. It's like the mod is only active some of the time. Not sure what is causing this. I can open the map and 1 out of 10 times I can fast travel. Otherwise it works great. Anyone else experience this?
Basically, the global fast travel parameter is reenabled each time "the player is moved via MoveTo - ObjectReference or SetPosition - ObjectReference". These functions run more often than you'd think and not always for obvious reasons or is used by other mods. This is why all current conditional fast travel mods simply are not working all of the time. Either the script need to run constantly (inducing script lag) or in intervals. This mod runs the script each 10 or 30 second. I have found that by opening any kind of menu (map, journal, etc) causes fast travel to get reenabled. This means that you'll have _up to_ ten seconds to fast travel until the script disables it again. Someone has yet to come up with a better and performance friendly solution,.
Fantastic mod... I've been trying to find something similar for a while now. But I am on a quest to obtain a mod that does this as well as requiring a "consumable" item upon fast travel, requiring you to have constant supply of said item, and giving another much needed incentive to save up septims...
My idea is that the consumable item would be something relevant to the horse, like a bag of carrots, or hay. Upon fast travel, this item is consumed - hence you would need a constant supply of this item to be able to fast travel. The item would be available to buy at vendors.
Basically, I want to make fast travel have more of a cost associated with it and be less of an incredible convenience, and as I said, I want my huge amount of septims to have more use.
I would love if the author or someone knowledgeable with scripting would be able to help me out with this!
Hi! Thank you very much for this. I originally wanted to download a mod that will disable my fast travel altogether, but this is a much better idea! I really love horses, but they were never really much useful to me in Skyrim, now, they are.
Dear Manaflow, can you make this mod compatible with Immersive Travel - No Fast Travel by DrNegative? Please, pretty please?

After using just Travel Mounts mod without Immersive Travel, I just realized how silly my request was...I don't need anything else! This mod does everything I need it to do.
Still cheaper to hire a carriage for what, 20-50 septims? this mod makes little sense unless there are no carriages any more (which it doesn't say in the description). I somehow miss the logic here lol
What are you talking about? This makes perfect sense. You have to be on a horse to fast travel. For those of us who want something between "teleport everywhere" and "no fast travel ever". A justification for fast travel if nothing else.
