Yes, this will be updated at some point. I have some small changes in regard of SIC's undead in mind for v7. Updating ASatWD won't happen until I consider SIC's undead final. It's a quite boring task to cut down SIC and let it become ASatWD. I don't want to do this more than once.
The above mentioned update will also be the last one this mod recieves. So ASatWD v4 will come with a few changes:
-> two versions: Skeleton only and Complete with Skeletons and Draugr changes -> mod will get an optional MCM to customise some features (similar to the SIC one) -> mod won't require SKSE / SkyUI to run - just needed if you wish to havemod menu -> high level enemies will be outsourced to an additional ESP (easier to streamline difficulty with the vanilla game)
This is great that you still plan to improve this mod. It is more compatible and less problematic than SIC in heavily moded game and very lore friendly.
You have no bloody idea how much I want this to be on Skyrim SE right now, I breathe on skeletons and they explode. I want my Leoric-esque Olaf One-Eye back... So much fun fighting the undead with this mod.

In this mod, I found a problem with the helmet of Warlord Gothrick,The Lord's Immortal Draugr, Warlord's Skeleton, and Warlord's Draugr. It is possible that there are others with the same problem. If anyone knows how to fix it yourself, please write an answer.
it'd be nice if you could disable some variants, 800hp unkillable skeletons with edgy red eyes and stupid energy shields are boring to fight, some of the models are great but some are trash
I decided to join the Companions after ignoring them for 61 levels; feels a bit lame as they call me 'pup' when I could probably take out the entire guild single-handed, but I'm running out of quests. Anyway, off to Dustman's Cairn to prove my worth with Farkass. With this mod installed (self-ported to SE) the final battle at this level was brutal beyond belief; seemingly endless waves of rag-lords and immortal this and skeletal overlord that.. the worst is that many have this shout that drains all your health in a few seconds. I died many times, Farkass spent a LOT of time bleeding out.. Anyway, Skyrim hasn't challenged me like that in a long time, great mod! Thanks! edit: it was actually another mod that erroneously made the Frost Breath shout do 120 damage/sec that's been making my draugr fights so challenging, lol!
