Due to a recent hard drive issue, and horrible internet speeds at the college, I will no longer be updating until a later date. Feel free to use this mod as needed, but give credit where credit is due.
Check my tutorial on how to edit SWF files and the menu items if you want to learn more.
If you are getting the error with SkyUI when opening up the map, for now, tick the "map menu" under file checking in the MCM menu. The file will work just fine with it. Until SkyUI releases an "editable" map file, there will be no update. If the markers are not working at all with SkyUI, or markers are out of place, please notify me in the bugs section.
When I first loaded my map a pop up told me that I needed to update SkyUI to the latest version, but I know I have the latest version because I downloaded the first file in the list of files on the SkyUI page. Mod is still working fine though, so I don't know why there was a pop up. But I do notice that the font on the map is different than the main font of the game, and I don't have any font mods installed. I can see the normal font on the part below the map with all the control reminders.
SSE equivalent is here, although it does not offer the exact same coloured icon selections so it would be nice if the mod author here could consider an SSE port::https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/5126
Not sure why you once offered paper map markers that were tan/paper to go with paper maps, but only include the colored version now. Cannot find it in the downloads (as in, download each option and look through it manually), and I see you once had this based forums posts.
Why get rid of it instead of keeping it as an option?
So i downloaded the mod and there were a few things wrong. 1. The compass was still white 2. When i tried to acess my map it kicked me out of the game How.Do.I.Color.My.Compass?
Dunno if anyone will see this when I'm posting in 2019, but I really think this should be a thing:
The situation- I try not to fast travel much and map out where my character will be going and what quests he can accomplish along the way. To do this, I have to turn on all the quests (or just about all of them), determine the route I am going to take and what I will do along the way, take note of the quests, and then turn all of the quests I'm not doing off. Then, I have to mark the first quest with a custom destination mark so that I know where to go next, and then move it to the next one when I'm done. Sometimes destinations I want to visit don't even have quests associated with them.
Ideal situation- It would be a lot better if there was a way to mark a route, rather than a single destination. Not the path you would take, necessarily, just the ability to say "I'm going here first, here second, here third," etc. and then have that show up in the compass thingy at the top of the screen. Maybe little numbers or something. Furthermore, if there was a way to turn all quests on with a single click, and then everything not on the route off with another.
Had the same issue also and was told this is the fix:

As an alternative, I tried XunAmarox Colored Map Markers, https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/49128, but the color scheme wasn't as varied nor to my liking. So I re-installed EzEs, loaded it AFTER the former, and I got what I wanted. Hope you use MO and LOOT.
