I ported this to SSE for personal use. It works nicely and I edited the levelled lists to make the children more common, give them proper deathitem lists, and add children with different spell types.
As I was testing it, I accidentally unequipped my weapon and that resulted in an unarmed killmove. So I just watched my character pile drive an eight year old into a stone floor. My immersion level just shot through the roof but I am definitely going to hell.
Why is the .esp also in the .bsa? Looks redundant, wondering if I need both or just the .esp. Which, I wanna convert it to SE, so kinda doubt I need the .bsa :\
I just installed this and the Forsworn children mod and had a very disturbing immersive moment. I was in Dustman's Cairn with Farkas. We were fighting a female Bosmer archer of the Silver Hands on the stairs that have the dart trap. Suddenly, I heard a young voice yelling "Leave me alone!" After the Bosmer was dead, I noticed a human boy Silver Hand cowering against the wall. I went over to see if I could talk to him, then Farkas noticed him and ran in front of me and coldly executed the child with his greatsword. I was getting to like Farkas before this, but now my opinion of him has changed.
Yeah, the first time I tried this one I had a moment myself. I spotted a small camp near a creek and there were three bandits, so I drew my bow and attacked. One fell dead into the creek right away, then the other two rushed me, a man and a woman. I killed the man fast, and put two arrows in the woman before she fell. When I looted the corpses I found nothing, and went to the creek. When I saw the body I realized it was a boy. I had just wiped out a small family. Things got real.
It's excellent how such a seemingly small thing can have such a big impact.
i have a worse experience in Fallout 4. i got a mod that add raider children for immersion. Their news of raider just rampage and murder people froma settlment. so i when there to kill them, it turn out 35% of the raider there was children (dat usual Spawn rate). after some flee, Dog meat "kill" one that still shooting. needless to say, it took a while.
he got mauled and the worse part was me failing to put him out of his misery. my aim suck with single shot.
From what i have seen all the default children in Skyrim look the same. there only seem to be one model for girls and one for boys. There is not way to edit the default children in the game as far as i know. And so i think it would be better to just make the children into very short adults. This way we can get more variety.
actually I think the boy child and girl child use the same model, with slightly different widths used. I hate it, I really wish someone would compeletely re-texture adoptables.
It's mostly because the generation options are so limited. There isn't any room for diversity. The main factor in my mind as to why every single child looks the same is their face shape, to which there are no alternatives. All their facegen data is very limited, as well as skin tone, etc.
My Skyrim children don't look the same. I once downloaded Children of the Sky (not here on the Nexus) just to play as a boy character (to eventually grow up via race menu), and then scrapped that idea after it just didn't seem right. What it did though was make child characters look more unique than vanilla children.

I opened up the .esp in the CK, but since I've never made any mods myself or even tweaked things in the CK, not sure what it could be.
