Based on everyone else's comments I'm guessing I'm the only one with this problem, but I can't actually leave Foxtreat Manor.
When I activate the gate, it teleports me into the tower beside the gate, that has no exit and only a fox pelt. I've tried activating the fox pelt while standing and crouching, but to no avail. I've also tried using the leaves again, but that doesn't do anything either.
Since no one else has this issue, I can only assume that there's something in conflict, which doesn't make sense considering this is in a seperate world space.
Tracking this file for now to see if anyone else with this issue shows up. Sadly, can't endorse this just yet til I can figure out what's causing the gate not to work properly.
I realize this is a very old post but I'm having this very same problem. I'm in a room with a fox pelt and no doors and I hear normal town music but I can't leave.
Thanks for suggestions. I at first considered placing this to Tamriel world, but it seems to occur mass confusion on NPC Navmeshes.. I took the safer way. I'll try when I could be more confident on modifying the world.

@Whitz Did you try waiting? Haven't tried this mod yet since I prefer to have my house somewhere in skyrim. I would try to put it in the world myself but the creation kit gives me a bunch of errors when I open it so I'm afraid of doing anything.
I'm having a problem with the pond spawning way too many fish and bugs. Every time I face the pond it slows my FPS to a crawl. Is there any way to fix it?

Still have not been able to get a follower to teleport in with me.
Should I be using a console command?
Did I install something wrong?
I tried to cleaned NeworldShrineAndArena.esp (Checksum: ABFC4312) with TES5Edit 3.0.23EXP.
As a result, TES5Edit displayed the following messages.
