    Version 1.5 : Text Input.

Left to do : not sure. If you have suggestions or translation errors to report, there will be more updates, but otherwise it'll probably be the final version.

Doubt you will every see this, but thank you very much for making this, the other renamer has a bunch of issues, main one being it adding spaces to the start of renamed items, messing up your inventory sorting. I've experienced no issues with this mod.

Will the creator of this mod please, please (begging here) update this great mod to work with SKSE 1.7.1?
It seems to me that it won't work because Renamer is looking for an exact match of the SKSE version.
I remember that happening with some games using DirectX not allowing for a newer version.

Found a new renamer that does most of what this on did Jaxonz Renamer by Jaxonz

It looks like an awesome mod, sadly It won't work because it's not up to date. It requires SKSE 1.6.9 and SKSE is already 1.7.1. So it won't work. I'd installed NMM and SKSE just for this mod. SeigneurVoland, would you be updating the mod?

Why does it say that it needs skse 1.5 when I start the game with this mod and than it crashes? I have the latest version of skse (1.8 or something)

I tried it i very like your mod friend but can you possibly increase the name slots because i think 64 will not be enough for me maybe increase size in a alternate file download thanks.

You're not the first to ask, well i will consider to increase the number of slots to 128.

But i'm currently very busy, testing a mod which will be released in a few days, and after that i'll have a huge break from Skyrim, so let's say i'll do it but i don't know when.

Why doesn't this mod work with a controller or does it work with a controller?

The system is based on keyboard & mouse keys presses, and as i don't have a controller i can not change it because i would not be able to test it.

I was ecstatic when I saw this mod. Sadly, it's so clunky, it's unusable. It relies too much on that weird virtual keyboard thing (Although EVERYONE has a keyboard BECAUSE IT'S PC SKYRIM) which doesn't detect keystrokes properly. EX. I typed "a" and it registered as "[space] a [space] a" In addition, when you use the regular keyboard, it completely cripples controller support, which prevents you from confirming the name. My suggestion? Remove the virtual keyboard. Otherwise, I feel this mod has great potential, as well as yourself, but I simply cannot use this.

This mod can not be used with a controller.

And i will not remove the virtual keyboard, because i use it, as it's impossible to disable completely the controls for Player. Pressing the Journal or Tween key is closing the MCM when renaming, so in these cases i use virtual keys instead.

I'd like to help, but i'm not sure to fully understand some problems you describe.

For which kind of object do you get the Message "There's nothing to rename" ?

How does it get stuck ??? Sorry i don't get it at all here.

Have you tried to rename created Potions as Uniques ?

The MCM can be blank only once, at Initialization, because of a delay of less than 10 seconds for some scripts to be read. If you have a blank MCM for this mod after that, i don't think it comes from SR. I NEVER had this.

Do you mean that when you target something else, it says that the ledger should be renamed ? I never got that too.

Can you check your Papyrus log to see if it reports some scripts errors ? The lines should begin with AASR.

Alright, i'll give a try later if necessary to see if i can reproduce this "stuck" problem.

Now, did you install the 1.4 version on a "clean save", a.k.a a save not used with older versions ? Also, can you check the Papyrus log ? It's very useful for tracking bugs.

EDIT : so, i've launched the mod with a save unused with SR, renamed a few things, then saved right in front of a ledger. Quit & reload, no problems at all.

I think that you use a save where an old version of the mod is already embedded ... or, it could be others mod as you say, but i don't see how they could mess with SR.

If you want support, please give me the infos requested above (clean save or not & Papyrus log).

You're right, it can not be a problem of old version, as the new Nexus feature shows the d/l history. Really weird.

To enable the logs, open "My Games\Skyrim\Skyrim.ini" file and put bEnableLogging=1, this will create a "Logs" folder with 4 Notepads. After a few minutes of play, look for scripts errors in the first log (Papyrus.0.log). The SR scripts are all prefixed with "AASR" for an easy search.

Sorry for delay, had some real stuff going on I tried to do this papyrus log thing, i must say theres so much stuff in log.0... Like 20 full screens of errors;p And suprisingly, there was no aasr at all there.

Maybe my target is somehow bugged, because all functions of your mod not related to target rename, seems to be working well.

PS. Tested on new game, same issues as before. I think it might not be related to your mod as all, too heavy modded unfortunately. Will still use your mod, for few first minutes it works, and new names stays forever, so I'll just get all stuff for renaming at 1 place, unistall/install mod, and then rename all i needed in one series
I'll be starting new game, just for test. I'm pretty sure, that one of million mods i have interferes with yours, thats why i cant rename after few minutes (probably time needed to run interfering script).
But given no logs have AASR, guess your mod is okay, so my apologies for confusion, I'll erase comment, as mod seems well working and unique

Ah, well if the log doesn't report SR errors, i don't know how i could help. It's puzzling.

This is the weirdest issue ever reported, and i have absolutely no clue of how another mods could interfere with SR. I'm sorry.

P.S. : there is another recent mod that let rename references with the console, maybe you'll have more luck with this one.

And thanks anyway, as you made very usefull mod, if not for me, then for the rest of community Wish you best

Good that it's sorted, with a manner or another.

And, thanks for your endorsement of TGR too.
