I don't think so, I believe every tree is hand placed by the developers, whereas the grass is generated. Don't rely on this but I'd say there is no way to reduce the number of trees, simply because there would be no simple way of determining which trees to get rid of.
Now this is a gem! I been trying forever to figure out how to remove the darn grass without always having to tg console it every cell change. I'm a big time looter/hoarder and run mods like war zones and such and after a giant battle next best thing is the looting of the corpses etc. Grass isn't anything but a huge pain in the rear, hides everything. It's funny because you see tons of mods made to add more or double the res etc etc which is fine, i have a beefy enough rig to handle most everything out their, but for us whom want to eliminate it entirely nada. So happy i stumbled onto this and greatly appreciated, worked like a charm. Grabbed your ini just so i could endorse this later after my hr is up. Thank you

I mean, it's not too terrible but my game does lag and crash quite a bit, in Falkreath only.
