is it just me or does the game just fail to start up with this mod installed ?

Your intuition is correct, it's "just you". (This mod has over a million unique downloads, meaning that many people have used it. Over 100,000 of them have also endorsed it. So clearly, the mod generally works.)

So the real question is, why won't your game start with this mod installed? Some common reasons: you didn't install it correctly; you didn't install other files that the mod requires (not a problem with this mod since it has no requirements); you need to sort your mod load order to avoid mods conflicting with each other. Or, you have the wrong version of the mod for your version of Skyrim. I'm guessing it's that last one-- which version of Skyrim do you have installed? (For example, if you're playing Skyrim Special Edition or AE, but you've installed the version of the mod that's for Legendary Edition [or 'vanilla' Skyrim], then the game may not start.)

This means that it was downloaded and not constantly used. My dragon armor became invisible and I deleted this mod. There is no need to rush into words recklessly.

I visited a Stormcloak camp and overheard a line by a Stormcloak soldier: "Stay alert. Never know when those Stormcloak dogs might charge."

I managed to save a screenshot, it was a funny moment in-game. Could it have anything to do with this mod/load order ? I also have AI Overhaul installed. No, I haven't cleaned the mod, I know I shouldn't.

Is it possible that the guards still say 'no lollygagging'. I don't like that.
I have the mod enabled in Vortex with no unsolved issues. I tried reinstalling it as well.

!!!!! They also still saying 'someone stole your sweetroll?'
What the f*#@, are you kidding me? What does this mod even do.

I found this mod which hopefully works to not break the immersion over a rediculous dialouge everytime.

If you want to know what the mod does, you should consider reading the description... you'll find that their comments to you depend on your progress through the game. If you're a nobody then they'll treat you like a nobody. You can only hear those lines until you finish major storylines or become the thane of their hold.

But in my case I like it, because I have daedric punishments on :D

Why is Hulda and every other NPC that uses the same voice type (ex.Mjoll, Anska etc.) starts talking like a guard on idle chatters?

I found this in the description addressing your question:

"GDO now makes some, but NOT ALL, of the guard comments available to some other NPCs who share the same voices. This is only done with those comments that could reasonably be considered to not be guard specific and is done without interfering with normal NPC dialogue at all so there’s NO possibility of conflict from this addition.
If you wish to disable this feature, so that ALL of the Guard Dialogue is ONLY spoken by Guards, use the Console command:
      Set GDOExtraNPCs To 0
Once disabled, this feature will remain disabled for that character. Any new game will begin with the feature enabled."

Are you kidding me? This mod removed armors from the game. Like steel armor and other upper body armors. Is it a joke? It had to be compatible.

This mod contains a "hidden" ITM that must be removed because it blocks a fix from the unofficial patches. The record in question is WICastMagic03 [QUST:000167D3]. Guard Dialogue Overhaul applies the same bug fix to the record as Update.esm (supposedly because GDO fixed the bug first and didn't remove it, once it was fixed in an official patch). TES5Edit registers this edit as an override and thus fails to automatically clean it.

This isn't an intentional overwrite by GDO. The unofficial patches fixed this bug after the last update to GDO.

    How to clean:
Fortunately TES5Edit can automatically clean this "hidden" ITM with a small change to the standard cleaning procedure. Before you choose "Apply Filter For Cleaning", you must right-click Skyrim.esm and tick the "Hidden" option. Then you can proceed normally and "Remove "Identical to Master" records" will remove only this one ITM.
Alternatively you can just manually remove WICastMagic03 [QUST:000167D3].

Its really annoying when people tell you what to do, but don't tell you how they got there. Thx for telling me that but where the hell is that located.

Why people are very eager to clean their mods whilst the very own mod author suggests DO NOT? i dont understand really. Just play and enjoy the game. Jizz.

      @ Rightsizer
I agree, some people are so oc about cleaning their mods., but some mods Actually need dirty edits to work, and even when the mod author says Not Too, they still do and then come back whining because something broke ..
But some mods do need to be cleaned tho Only if the mod says its ok to do so ...

I wad curious when a I found a warning after installing this mod. LOOT advised me to clean it. Some people advised against it, after looking it up I got my answer.

If you have USLEEP, you don't have to clean it. I dunno if this mod works on SE, but SE already integrated USLEEP so you also won't have to clean it. Otherwise, clean the mod.

EDIT: BTW, there's actually an 'update' to this mod. Check out Guard Dialogue Overhaul Redux, it should solve the wild edits on LOOT instead having to deal with other options.

Do not download if you use less talkative npc's, the mod will not work. I personally do not like mods that aren't cleanable, just speaking for the people who might be confused.
