   Wood can be stained to become the color shown in the screenshots, so no it doesn't require a special tree.

   You very easily could open it up in nifskope and make it not shiny....

   to dark color, its probably not mahogany they used as wood, pine more likely so bleaker color should fit, like a wooden bow

   still same wood textures, but the brown version's color sure is much much better
   looks a lot better now
