Thankful for this mod. First time into Riften and it disrupted the triggered events/convos of Mjoll, Mual, and Sapphire because Vampires entered behind me and kept attacking and they all ran up to fight them and then all walked away...like WHT man... Reloads and Restarts didn't help.
Vampire attacks are annoying if anything else. Why would a MASTER VAMPIRE attack a city? City full of guards. To do what? Kill some people? Surely, if that was the plan, thanks to their abilities, vampire could just sneak in and massacre half the city in their sleep. Hell, I've done it. Easy. What this however does is to remove NPCs from face of the earth. All those unfortunate enough to be caught in an attack. Oh... on top of that. If you're playing a character relying on magic, you might as well forget about saving the NPCs. Because you hit them once or hit a guard and there you go. Another annoyance. Mod helps.
I know the mod author says that he uses another mod now (If they still play Oldrim at all), but I whole heartedly admit that this mod has been in my load order for years and I have no plans to remove it. Yes, there are other mods that deal with this problem, however, to this day this one personally is the best fix. It never made sense why they would throw Vampires in a berserker charge at a fortified city... all just to... kill a couple of people. That's ridiculous... this just completely removes vampire attacks on cities all together. Highly, HIGHLY endorse this mod still and have never had an issue using it. Kudos still.
Thank Talos this is a mod. Damn vampires killed the lady in Winterhold that has the Coral Claw, and here's a fun fact: she materializes it out of thin air to give it to you; it isn't in her inventory. Now of course I could just resurrect her with the console, but that would require me to sit up and type which I'm too lazy to do while playing Skyrim. Really breaks immersion
I had already give the amulet back to the priest, so I went back to check for the new ones but couldn't find them on the table. How can I get them with that quest already done?
That is strange. They are not tied to the quest and should always be there. Is the mod active? Maybe you should wait somewhere else a couple of days to let the cell respawn.
Strangely enough that worked. (Lucky me!) Guess I really only had to wait a bit. Am now wearing the Vampire Repellent and it seems to work well. Only downside is the time when you're in/coming out of Beast Form. Like everything else it's gone when you shapeshift. Other than that I'm loving this mod!
Heartily endorsed! Dawnguard and vampires are very intriguing but I'm fairly new to Skyrim and I have my hands full battling various enemies AND dragons. Not to mention, trying to figure out the political factions. When I'm ready, in the not too distant future, I'll take off my amulet and face vampires!
