Ah ok, I see your post in that other thread. Yes, this is likely a Dawnguard bug (this DLC broke a lot of existing mods that use custom dialogues). The workaround is to:

    1. Save the game
    2. Reload the game
    3. Voila (only need to do it once)

It worked for me at least.

Ok, it appears I didn't need to implement a fix after all, since this thread suggests it only affects new users, who'd then need to save and load the game once:

Seems like Dawnguard broke my mod by killing the character dialogue tree. I will find a fix for it this weekend if I have time.

That's the right sequence of steps. The object floating in the air is correct, since I haven't fixed its height coordinates, but it wouldn't matter.

I have the most up-to-date version of Skyrim, as most people would have. So that could be a potential problem.

I've also sent you a debug .psc script a while ago. If you are interested to help me determine the problem with your version, tell me the output.

Also, it'd be nice if the other 143 people who downloaded this mod let me know if the mod worked for their version.

    1. Craft homunculus
    2. drop homunculus from inventory (preferably at home)
    3. homunculus floats in the air
    4. Cast magelight (or other targeted spell, according to version) at the homunculus
    5. nothing happens

Which version/update for skyrim is needed, by the way? my version currently is 1.1.21.0. I don't like to update it, because i can't get comfortable with some features of further updates...

Ugh... that's very strange. Can you tell me your sequence of steps? I've tested the homunculli on numerous occasions and they always worked for me.

Also, can everyone else who tried this mod comment on whether or not it worked for them? Thanks.

I tried the new version, but I'm afraid, it still won't work for me... I already searched for bad pex-files and incompatible mods (preferably those that change the follower system to some extent), but nothing seemed to work. Too bad, because i really like the idea of this mod

It's possible, but the mod looks for ID's in general so it'd be strange if that's the culprit.

I dislike adding new spells because it'd clog up the list. What I'd do, instead, is to loosen the requirement so that any spell would work.

Edit: I uploaded a new version. Let me know if you can now create NPCs.

Maybe, you could add a special spell for them... I suspect, that it may be the spell; i play with a german version, therefore magelight is called "magierlicht". It works the same way, but maybe creating a homunculus only works with the proper name?
