I find it odd that Wet and Cold's snowy shader works for me but this one doesn't. FAQ-2 doesn't really contain any useful information about this. The only reason I tried this was because of the ENB patch but it doesn't work at all. No one gets snowy, and I don't think it's "a defect with the model"
Help! When I install this mod and it snows, my follower would start to get snowy and then a big bluish purple thing would swirl around her and the snow would be gone and about every 3 seconds that would repeat! It is really distracting and annoying. How can I fix this? I am using the version with the skin shader.
200,000 downloads and 10,000 enforcements and you're the first to mention this strange behaviour. I would suggest it is a conflict with some other magic mod you have installed, try removing mother mods as a process of elimination.
This is not a conflict on your part. This mod uses a cloak spell to apply the frosty shader. The mood author didn't flag the spell as "ignore spell absorption". Your follower probably has the atronach perk with 30% chance of spell absorption, so 30% of the time the cloak effect hits your follower, the spell absorption effect plays. Normally this is OK, most NPCs don't have any spell absorption.
The same issue exists on the sse version, and I've confirmed the cause there. It's a very easy fix.
I previously had the vanilla version (https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/78541) with Get Snowy & the patch worked but with the above one, its not working
