Full back-story text as seen in-game in Raefik's Journal: ..............file has been deleted.

Could somebody inform me how to get the house for free? I've looked through the whole cave and talked to Raefik countless times, and even spent 2000 to use his soil. The only thing I found was a book telling me about a city (forgot the name) and how to make money there, and a ritual shrine above some rocks, but I can't put anything in there. Is this a dialogue glitch?

It took months for me to figure this puzzle out (I wouldn't call it a quest).  After you receive the gem from Raefik, climb the garden/rock formation and you will find a tombstone, an offering plate and some flowers behind it.  Activate the plate, put the gemstone in it, click OK on the messagebox, then go back and talk to Raefik.  That's it.

absolutely amazing mod, I can't get enough of it! Although, I noticed that some of the links to the recommended mods like Pinup Poser and Realistic Lighting With Customisation dont work, does anyone know a working hyperlink to them or if there are alternatives to these mods that are confirmed to work with this one

I know I'm coming in late here, but those hyperlinks being broken is a side effect of the Nexus switching how the site was structured under-the-hood. Amethyst Hollows was already abandoned when that happened, alongside a lot of other mods of the before days.

To get around that when it happens, take the number at the end of the URL (for Amethyst Hollows it's 18575) and plug it into the modern URL. The oldest mod still on the nexus should look like:
      https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/8

I hope that helps and happy modding!

You can post, and if there's a problem with it you simply take it down :)
Doubt the author would mind tho, he hasnt released any mod for years

Will you update your mod for SSE or will it work by default?

Would also like to know...thanks for my favorite location when I actively played. I'm getting ready to start again and would love this location in SSE.

The mod author has been mia for a few years now. Someone else would have to make a port based on the dead man theory.

Of course youd also have to find the man because his permission is required since youre using his assets.

I saw the bit about being able to get the place for free, instead of needing 20k gold, and I was interested. In game, I didn't see anything about how that works, so I did a quick search online and found a post hidden away in the depths of a forum thread by the author that gave me what I needed. So, without spoiling everything, here's what you need to know to figure out how to get it free:

    1. DO NOT sell, drop, or otherwise remove from your inventory the gem that Raefik gives you upon completing the initial quest (the one that you have to finish to have the option of buying Amethyst Hollows).
    2. There's a semi-secret location. I don't know that I'd call it *secret* secret, but it's not marked and you probably didn't know it was there unless you went exploring near it for whatever reason. I won't say where it is, but I will say that by the time you have the option to buy AH, you should have at least glimpsed it, even if you didn't realize it.
    3. In that sorta-secret location, there's a Thing. I also won't tell you what the Thing is, because that might give away where the place is. But it's an activatable (you look at it and press the activate button, keyboard control defaults to 'E'), and it'll open a screen. You need to do something in that screen.

Those three points should be enough to figure out how to get the place without paying. It may not make sense now, but when you find the place, you'll immediately see the Thing, and when you activate the Thing, you should be easily able to work out what to do. Just remember, keep that gem from Raefik!

(If the mod author wants me to take this down or vague it up further, I will be glad to do so. I tried to avoid spoilers while still being helpful enough that people can figure out what to do, but I may have been a bit TOO helpful, I don't know.)
