The "No Name" / "Can't Interact" / "Can't Loot" Bug

This is the dreaded no-name bug. It comes from having your language incorrectly set in at least one of your patchers. Fix your language settings in ASIS.ini - there are instructions inside ASIS.ini - and RUN THE PATCHER AGAIN.

I have edit a string file to my language but I'm keeping the string files name as English like Skyrim_English.DLSTRING so look like i don't have to change anything on asis.ini file but it's still bug could you help ?

Edit
I found the issue is Unofficial skyrim high resolution patch is a cause of this after deactive this I can see Npc name And loot dead body again

If you rename any of the BSA files containing strings, such as the DLC ones, the patcher will work but the names of every NPC it touches in those DLC will have this bug. I renamed mine after optimizing them and it took me forever to figure out the problem.

help i have the no name or interaction bug with some npcs, but my language is correctly set to English in the ini, and i have not renamed any BSA , also i tried to desactivate the asis esp to see if the problems goes away but remains. what can i do?.

EDIT the cause of my "no dialog bug" was the mask that conceals your identity from "sneak tools" mod so dumb lol.

Better later than never. It is because you don't have corresponding string files, you need to follow this procedure originaly written for Perkus maximus but it is applicable for ASIS.

Well, it only happen when im using mo, not nmm. And to be honest, your ''tutorial'' make me more confused than anything else.
Even if it could be using for asis, the tutorial itself is for perma and there is some instruction I dont understand at all. But thanks for trying to help me!

Ok, I kind of fix it. I just download the english string, and put the language in english ( on asis.ini) so now i have a frenglish game. But its not that bad, im not bad in english so...

Ok, sorry to respond after a long time, but I though I already wrote this so...
Your new link really help me, the original game didn't give the dlc string, so I install the new string with MO and it worked fine ( if I remember well, because I didn't play since my last reply).

If I just change my game language to english and unisntall all my mod translations your mod going to work???
because I have installed a lot of mods with spanish translation and you know I'm so tired (really tired, I was modding my game literally for a month and it still not working correctly because of this issue, if you are wondering why, its because I install your mod at last) I just want the easy solution, so, if I uninstall all the mod translations and turn my game in english language it solve this issue???
Oh and I need this mod too https://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/82578/?tab=2&navtag=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.nexusmods.com%2Fskyrim%2Fajax%2Fmodfiles%2F%3Fid%3D82578&pUp=1 ??? (sorry I don't know how to hide the link)

You don't need to remove all your translation, just follow the little howto that you can find on the sticky post of the mod you linked.

So, there is another way to solve this problem! Without any manipulations with game settings...
All you need to do, is create and activate zEdit patch BEFORE you patch with ASIS.
Link for mod "UPF NPC Enchant Fix Patcher":
www.nexusmods.com/skyrimspecialedition/mods/13543
I think you figure this out for your own...

Okay, user ServantOfSin ( <-- Follow that link to give ServantOfSin some Kudos! ) updated the ASIS patcher to work with the USKP. With both ServantOfSin and Dienes permissions, I have posted it. Unfortunately, my computer is still down to 2gb of RAM, so I haven't been able to test it yet. Please report any issues (or lack of issues) here!

Edit: This is just ASIS updated to work with the newest USKP files. It does not include anything from my Improved INIs, or my experimental ASIS patch. You still need to install those separately if you want them.

Hi guys, again.
Thanks for the update, first of all!

Unfortunately, I'm still getting the missing master message, even with the new "hacked" patcher.
After a month or so, I am now close to getting "desperate" (well, in gaming terms, at least)

Any help appreciated!

It should work with either of them. THe problem was that SkyProc had to be updated to work with larger ESP/ESM files, now that it has been and ASIS has been upgraded to with the new SkyProc, it should be smooth sailing.

Should.

it doesn't work with the legendary edition. Well the patcher doesn't. When I try to patch it keeps saying I'm missing the USKP master, but i don't need that since i got the legendary edition.

Apologies I was wrong. It was a different mod causing the issue since it need uskp as the master. I used that swap master script with it and it fixed the issue.

Version 1.42.5 uploaded!
See changelog here.

INI files changed!
NPC Enchant Fix now distributes all perks listed in NPCEnchantFix.ini to all NPCs. If you want you can add your own perks to it for all NPCs to get.

Patcher settings changed!
The Increased spawns patcher panel now has options to set UseInteriorSpawns and the Reduced Interior Spawns Factor. These values may be set incorrectly if you used a previous version of ASIS so double check them before patching.

Secret Command Line Option
Add -AllModsAsMasters on the command line and it will skip the adding masters phase and use all imported mods as masters for ASIS.esp. This can make patching much faster. If a mod is in your exclude sections it will still show up as a master. Its not a bug do not report it or I will mock you.

SUM was updated.
Merging patches with SUM should work as well as it ever did. Its still experimental so there may be bugs but its not for sure doomed.

Optional Ini Changes
Agents are GO! / EggOver1979 made up some inis for a more interesting game. These are customized to work with many popular mods as well as improve ASIS's handling of official content.

ASIS Improved INI Files

Reporting Errors!
Please include as much information as possible in your report. "It doesn't work" is not enough information. If you can't be bothered to give a reasonable explanation of what happened I won't bother to try and help you.

If the patcher crashes please post a copy of Skyrim/Data/Skyproc Patchers/ASIS/SkyProcDebug/=--Debug Overview--=.txt to Pastebin.com and link it. This includes important information I can use to track the problem down.

Post a copy of your load order to pastebin.com and link it.

***INSTALLATION***Nexus Mod Manager (NMM) Installation (www.skyrimnexus.com/content/modmanager):

• Download through NMM, and activate there.
• Follow as from step 4) or step 5) below
Manual Installation:

• Unzip the files anywhere.
• Move the contents of the zip into the Data directory of your Skyrim installation (located inside the steam folder, under
steamapps/common/skyrim).
• Confirm that the folder structure is preserved (ie, you should see a folder called SkyProc Patchers in the Data folder, and you should also
have an ASIS-Dependency file inside it).
• (Optional) Configure any INI options for exclusions and inclusions.
• Run the included ASIS.jar located in Skyrim/Data/SkyProc Patchers/ASIS/ASIS.jar, or the associated SUM program downloaded
separately.
• Configure any menu options you choose.
• When starting Skyrim, click on data files, and make sure the 'ASIS.esp' & 'ASIS-Dependency.esp' are checked.
• Run Skyrim and enjoy!

I couldnt get it to work with Mo2, patcher ran fine but mo refused to start the game.

said "Plugin not found: ASIS.esp" despite it being right there in the modlist below asis dependancy esp.

after searching the whole internet and this thread and after trying every possible fix from reinstalling to adding as executable, putting it in data folder installing both 32 and 64 bit java etc etc

i came to the conclusion that nobody had this issue so i gave up and uninstalled.

if anyone have this same issue and is using mo2 give up and play skyrim without this mod nothing will work.

EDIT: i will leave this post as is so you can all have a little laugh i deserve it.

and for anyone else coming across this issue... youre not gonna believe my stupidity when i tell you that... i got the wrong version of a mod installed.
in my case it was the wearable lanterns mod i had the SSE version instead of the oldrim one, got the LE version and now it atleast starts

I'm trying to run the patcher and it keeps telling me Skyrim.esm and Update.esm are missing. I'm using Vortex, and they're listed there, but Vortex enables them by default, so they don't have the "Enabled" tag next to them, and it's impossible to enable/disable them. I assume this is part of the problem, but I have no idea how to fix it.

In case anyone else runs into this issue, I figured it out pretty soon after posting.
I was running the patcher from the subfolder in Vortex' downloaded mod folder, instead of the one from Skyrim's own Data folder.
Silly error, simple fix.

A good idea, but NPCs don't seem to obtain perks relevant to their combat style/class/whathaveyou. For example, Kaidan claims stealth not to be one of his strongest suits... But he- alongside ALL of my other followers- had the stealth roll perk before my PC (focused mostly in sneak and archery) even qualified for it.

Um, need some help here :/ so, i tried to use this for my Giant playthrough, but the patcher won't go through because, for some reason, it doesn't recognize the fact that I have race compatibility in my data folder. Any suggestions on why the patcher doesn't recognize race compatability?

Whenever I tick "automatic perks" and "npc enchant fix" in the patcher, the main menu never loads upon game launch. When I untick them and have everything else like spells and increased spawns, it's fine. What could cause this?

The "Increased Spawns" function of this mod is broken. Every NPC reference generated by the patcher has multiple <Error: Could not be resolved!>, sometimes over a dozen of them, where important information like perks, AI package, and templates should be listed. This cannot be good for game stability.
