    finally i fixed it,heres what i did for you that still have problems getting the silly shadow problem to go away.
    go to documents-my games-skyrim-skyrimPrefs.ini and change

    iBlurDeferredShadowMask=22

    iShadowMapResolution=5192

    fShadowBiasScale=1

    yep only this 3,this should fix it and with out having your fps Butchered.

    rep up if this helped you

      Yes,fixing crappy shadows but not good for midrange video card. -20 fps Shadows resolutions too high,i prefer 60 fps in games.

      Yeah, these settings completely removed the shadow strippings, however they devastated my fps as well. Are there any settings for players who have a mid-ranged video card?

      Dude. Really? How the hell? After all I read what is correct and whatnot when it comes to INI settings and tweaks with shadows, you just come here and fix everything with these 3 adjustments? I mean, I've done every adjustment out there to try and get smooth shadows and remove flicker/striping. These 3 things fixed everything. Thank you!

      EDIT: Thou I prefer these settings no matter what, the only problem with that high iblurdefferedmask is that you will get this soft "aura" around certain things at some angles. Althou this bothers me waaaay less then how it was before

      It worked! Thanks! Holy crap, shadows look amazing. However, I was running at 60fps, but now I am running 39-50 fps. I'm going to lower the shadow resolution n see if that helps. Thanks again.

      With this settings i don't have more than 10~15fps. Was 30~40fps before.

      Works like a charm, in fact, i was having huge FPS drops in cities such as Whiterun, (over 400 mods) in pair with the godforsaken shadows from vanilla, and now everything runs smoothly!

      A huge kudos!

      You mean your fps isn't sodomized by these settings? Hmm. Not only the resolutions but applying 22 passes of blur.. well, I'll try it out anyway.

      Same as the 1% of people who replied your comment, it just doesn't work for me... NOTHING DOES
      Maybe it's the game not recognizing the custom SkyrimPrefs.ini, and it just makes a default one? Gotta see.

      By the Necro Gods it fookin works! Hint: I suppose the exact settings he posted don't work for everyone, but it provides you with a starting point. Tweak the settings till it does work [everyone's pc is different], that's what I did. Also, use Link to reference the settings your actually changing. It helps to know what functions your changing.

    Hey guys,

    For people using ModOrganizer/SKSE.

    I'm by no means an expert on any of this, however for anyone who wasn't noticing any changes in-game this may be a solution;

    Ensure that you are modifying the appropriate .ini file, specific to ModOrganizer, being:

    ModOrganizer(wherever you've saved it) / profiles / [yourprofile or Default] / skyrimprefs.ini

    I initially didn't notice any changes in game because I was modifying the .ini file within the steamapps/common folder and if you're running ModOrganizer then the game will not recognize any of those changes.

    Hope this helps.

      basically, if any of you are still confused, Look for the INI file in The game directory

      Edit: i spoke too soon, it doesn't work. Help please

      You can also use the Configurator within Mod Organizer. I would suggest it is easier to modify the INI in Mod Organizer rather than the vanilla game install directory. This way you do not permanently change anything and the only change comes from within MO.

      The Configurator also helps with Basic or Advanced Settings.

    for anyone posting here looking for help ... he says in the description that he is retiring from modding skyrim with no chance of his return.
    so to answer your question no this is not supported ...
    that said this isnt really even a mod ... you can't install it via managers...and it doesnt go into the data files ... it changes values within the pref ini ... back up your original ini's and paste these lines in ..
    it doesnt work perfectly there are still many blotched shadows ... but it does improve things ... its kinda like taking vitamin c when your sick ...
    it wont make you feel better ... but it will make you think you feel better and may shorten your cold.
    for the time being lets hope the bethesda gets their s*** together.

    Is this mod still supported? It doesn't do anything for my game; the world is still covered in shadows that look like checkerboards and zigzag patterns. I don't think I have any other mods that would conflict with this mod, but the description doesn't have a (in)compatibilities section so I can't be sure.
