A patch that enables COTR users to use vanilla Skyrim scars while also providing new scar combinations!




I’ve been curious about why the vanilla scars were never patched for COTR. It’s quite unusual,
especially considering that some vanilla resources were actually patched to work
with it! I couldn’t find a single patch outside of the COTR mod page
either, so I decided to create my own! :)

Although it is possible to apply the original vanilla scars that come from Skyrim.esm to your
COTR preset, you may notice that they appear to be floating instead of adhering to
the preset’s face. This is because the preset is using the vanilla scar
meshes instead of the COTR mask mesh.

The COTR mask mesh (or scar mesh) is a more efficient option compared to the vanilla scar
mesh(es). The latter is divided into various meshes for no apparent reason, which
can be complicated. On the other hand, the COTR mask mesh uses a
single mask mesh of the whole face, which is simpler
and more straightforward!

And because 17 scar textures are not enough, I've also made another 17 scars by making various
combinations of the original scar textures! Enjoy the additional options
you can choose from!
