Plesiosaurs are large marine reptiles found in most oceans that surround Tamriel, including the Sea of Ghosts. The ones in the Sea of Ghosts have adaptations that allow them to survive cold water similar to that of other large marine creatures through gigantothermy, consuming large calories, and fat reserves. They are primarily piscivores and eat only fish and shellfish, however, plesiosaurs might take up the opportunity to eat people who venture
close to them.
Their long necks give them a unique advantage for fishing as well as give them superior reach against melee attackers. Their long thin necks also make it hard for archers and spellcasters to get an accurate shot on them with nearly zero chance of landing a hit, the best chance of taking one down is hitting center mass.
Legend has it there is a plesiosaur-like creature known as the Lake Ilinalta Monster, that lurks within Lake Ilinalta guarding its treasure. Most who seek the creature to try to obtain its treasure meet their demise.
