Introducing a project that has been in the works for some time. Initially taking form of an inconsequential NPC in an old, unpublished version of a mod I hid a long time ago, now revisited and repurposed for a darker, arrogant, and interesting experience.
Introducing Midave Merendel. Mage. Student of the dark arts. Arrogant.
Midave (Pronounced Mih-dah-vay) is an arrogant and somewhat sinister Dark Elf mage companion that can be located in Rorikstead from the start of the game. After a brief interaction, he can become a companion for a short prologue quest I built that'll lead into a bigger questline (which I'll add later). Completing his prologue quest will make him a fully-fledged companion, complete with some background behind him, the ability to access his inventory, setting his home base (and some extra fluff that goes along with it) that he can chill at when he's not following you, and even the ability to teach him new spells. Be warned, he may already know the spell and is just not showing off. If such is the case, he'll alert you and begin using the spell WITHOUT consuming the spell tome.
(Note: The mod will assume you've been named Dragonborn by the Greybeards. It is highly recommended you get that far in the main quest so as to not break immersion or be jarring in regards to the dialogue. For Alternate Start Users, I am dreadfully sorry, but being named Dragonborn is integral to Midave's future questline.)
Built with his own framework, he will not interfere with the base game's companion system nor will he interfere with modded companions like Vilja, Lucien, or Inigo. He also comes with his own custom voiced dialogue, voiced by a long time friend and voice actor whom I've worked with on many, many projects prior to this one.
