Work in progress!!

Do not run this mod while you play Skyrim normally.
I might have made some changes to the main Skyrim world that I have forgotten to fix.

A short story:

Once upon a time Shadiversity created a model of Winterfell that would be more realistic and true to the books.
That gave me an idea. Let me put this into Skyrim. I am a big dreamer.
Nothing more really happen afterwards until...
2020 happened and I got a lot of free time and started working. And hundreds of hour after that I got most of it done.
But I still wanted to add something of my own so lets finish the Godswood before I release it.
Then work came again with the summer and the project had to be put on pause.
Almost two years later after watching the house of the dragon TV series I decided that the project needs to be released before the next season.
I got to work on the free time and here we are!
There isn't really a finished job but it will never be completely finished,
So I release it in its current state so you guys also can explore it or maybe add to it.

What this mod aims to do:

This is Shadiversitys model of Winterfell put into Skyrim. For the fans of Shadiversity and fans of the book series A song of ice and fire.

What is this "The True Winterfell"?

If you want to know, I recommend watching this video:

But short, it's an different interpretation of Winterfell than the Game of Thrones TV series.
More realistic and true to the source material.

About the projects current state:

LODs:
I haven't learned enough about LOD creation and don't feel like crating custom meshes for it just yet.
But I tried to throw something together but skipped tree LODs.

Not optimized!

The Mod is not optimized so be ready for some or a lot of frame drops and crashes.
The Godswood has a lot of trees so a lighter version of it would help with fps. But I can't promise that I will have time for that.
The models from Sketchup aren't optimized and have a lot of unnecessary polygons.
To save time, I used the original meshes for collision instead of creating simpler ones. But at least it works on my pc.

Empty!
The Castle is very empty so feel free to add something of your own if like modding.
Maybe add some guards, fill the market stands with activity, add some trees or whatever you feel like.

Navmesh:

The navmesh is about 90% complete. There is some missing parts around the walls and and needs some more testing and improvements.
Edges and covers needs to completed to.

Dragons:
I tried a lot to get dragons working but with no result.
They fly through everything and have other problems.
With some combinations of other mods I was able to fly as one but with problems.

Interiors:
I once started experimented with interiors for the houses but I will start from scratch if I continue with it.
So do not expect to explore the inside of the buildings.
But I'm sure that I won't be able to release some new interiors any time soon so feel free to use the resources that come with this version to create your own interiors mod.

Meshes:
The meshes could still be improved. They have some small errors from the prosses of moving them from Sketchup to Skyrim.
They could also be optimized and get more details.

Textures:
The Textures are mostly from vanilla Skyrim so if you use some texture pack it can start to look weird.

Drawbridges:
I spent a lot of time to get the drawbridges to work but haven't finished al of them.

Towers:
I experimented with their interiors but they could need some work.

Outside of the Castle:
I have no plans for the exterior

Audio:
The music and ambience sounds that is set to the cells are only experimental.

Xbox and Playstation:
I want to release it for console to if I am able to do it. I have no knowledge of console modding yet.

Modders resource:

I want to create one separate mod as an modders resource with the meshes from this mod.

I have a full time job and a lot of other stuff that needs my attention so I can't put a lot of time into this.
And I have no game development experience except some modding .
So progress will move slowly.

Feel free to give feedback or tell me about problems but I do not think I can guarantee any fast replies.

Mod requirements
I am not 100% sure that the required mods are 100% necessary.
But at least I can't play it without them.
Remember to use the memory allocator patch that comes with ''Crash fixes''.
And I recommend installing them manually and not with a mod manager.
In Skyrim SE I do not have this problem.
