Now, it is time. 7 years later after rolling out troops to defend the cities, the Dawnguard have finally noticed the plight of the unprotected villages in Skyrim's wilderness. They will ignore it no longer. Today, they fall under the protection of the Dawnguard.
This mod adds 2 Dawnguard soldiers to each village in Skyrim. They will defend each settlement from dragon, vampire, and bandit attacks and will aid you in combat if your dawnguard. They usually patrol the towns, but on some they will simply protect the only entrance into the village. They are all unique and wont respawn after death, but they are marked as "protected" meaning only the player can kill them. They also act like guards, and will assist the local guards, Stormcloak and Imperial, in combat. They also, in rare cases, will attempt to make arrests on the player if no guard is close.
Also, on the recommendation of a friend of mine (Kudos to you!), there is also a Dawnguard patrol that will patrol between High Hrothgar and Ivarstead.
