About this mod
: A comprehensive mesh replacer that fixes Dragonbone weaponry in therms of oversights, specular, translations, normals, and other tiny details left behind that were never fixed in the official patches of Skyrim neither in Unofficial Patches. Covers all Dragonbone weapons.
- Requirements
- Permissions and credits
- All weapons' Specular Strength readjusted to a standard.
- All Specular Normals redefined.
- All weapons' translations now have an uniform and default value including readjustments to fit properly in Dragonborn's hand.
- Some weapons re-scaled to match correctly with others. (e.g: the greatsword scale is now equal to a Glass Greatsword, the dagger with Blade Of Woe, the sword with Blade's Sword, the warhammer with Ebony warhammer and so on).
- Cubemap fixes and replacement to all weapons. Including the greatsword lacking one and others in wrong placed parts like warhammer.
- Refined Blood Decal.
- Removed nodes, blocks and other unnecessary/bad placed stuff of extreme irrelevance.
- Fixed bad scabbard position for the sword and cubemap readjusted. Added one for greatsword & dagger as well.
- All 3rd person meshes were replaced with the 1st person ones.
- Removal of double vertices in all weapons' meshes.
- Readjusted weapons' positions in inventory card.
- Inside the zip folder contains a Data folder, just drag and drop it where you installed your game, where TESV.exe is located.
- Then you're good to go.
- You can remove the related files of this mod safely latter in case you didn't liked this mod since no .esp plugins are involved.
- Don't ask me for SE\AE editions and patches!
- Feel free to use this mod as a resource in your LE works but I forbid porting them to SE/AE.
- This mod is not compatible with other mesh replacer mods for Dragonbone weapons but textures.
- The difference between 1st and 3rd person meshes in Skyrim is their polygon count. Usually 1st person meshes are more detailed because your Dragonborn is not fully rendered in this perspective and to avoid performance impacts. Nowadays this method and performance impact are quite irrelevant and the amount of polygons between the weapons is barely noticiable.
- The changes made by this mod may not cause much visual impact, aside from the scabbards added, the metallic parts with changed cubemaps, and their position in the inventory card.
- Depending on animation mods you use, some of the weapons may be bad placed on Dragonborn's hands. Dragonbone Warhammer is an easy target for that due to its grip design. This may affect even other Vanilla's weapons.
- There's one vanilla texture that comes with the mod necessary to fix the scabbard's cubemap, you don't need it IF you use Texture Replacer MODs for Dragonbone weaponry.
