Permissions and credits

The aim of this mod is to provide an ideal
pocket player home for a Nightingale character.

Nightingale Nest
Adds a new player home named Nightingale Nest, which can be accessed from anywhere at almost any time.
Includes vanilla crafting stations, numerous storage options, a bed, displays for armor and weapons, and some unique features.

Black Arrow Forging
The Nest includes a forge where you can create
multiple varieties of magical Black Arrows.

A reward for becoming a Nightingale
A simple mini-quest to obtain the house,
with additional unique quest rewards.

Requirements and Compatibility
Dawnguard and Dragonborn required.
No other mods required.
Fully compatible with all my mods.

Design and Content
Nightingale Nest consists of a single dark, circular room with vine-covered walls, floor and ceiling.
This isn't designed as an end-game player home, the Nest is meant for
regular on-the-go visits and feels like a utility-over-style base.

Mannequins
The two mannequins in Nightingale Nest are unique. Activating them grants a Conjuration spell that lets you access them from anywhere.
This essentially gives you remote access to additional armor sets and weapons without affecting your carry weight.

To prevent the mannequins being used for infinite storage, they can only store the items they are equipping.
This means you can only store one full set of armor (with a shield), a ring and amulet, and one weapon. They can also store unlimited arrows.

Accessing the Nest
You can enter Nightingale Nest from any location by equipping the Ring of Nesting
while out of combat. Unequipping it will return you to your original location.

The Ring doesn't take up an equipment slot, so you can wear other
enchanted rings to fortify crafting skills while in the Nest.

Special thanks to Saerileth for giving permission to use one of the
ring meshes and textures from Gemling Queen Jewelry in this mod.

After completing the Thieves Guild quest, Darkness Returns, the Ring of Nesting will appear in the inventory of any defeated boss-level human/elf enemy you encounter. This may seem a completely random way of acquring the Ring, but for those who value immersion there is an in-world explanation given.

Once you have Ring, equip it to enter Nightingale Nest. Inside, you'll find a book titled "Welcome to the Nest", which contains a message from one of the Nest's previous inhabitants that explains its history and how the Ring came to you.

Black Arrows are a new type of arrow designed for use by Nightingale characters.
After reading the Black Arrow Forging Instructions (on top of the Nest's anvil),
these arrows can be crafted and enchanted with a variety of magical effects.

Special thanks to ElSopa for giving me permission to use
the iron arrow quiver from Quivers Redone in this mod.

Unchanted Arrows
These arrows can only be crafted at the forge in Nightingale Nest. There are three varieties to forge: Black Iron Arrows, Black Steel Arrows (which require you to have the Steel Smithing perk) and Black Arrows (which require the Ebony Smithing perk). All recipes require Infused Charcoal, a new ingredient that can only be created in the Nest by activating the central fireplace and placing in Firewood and Void Salts.

Magic Arrows
Once you have Black Iron, Black Steel or Black Arrows, you can craft them into enchanted versions at the forge in Nightingale Nest. These arrows inflict magical damage (with additional side effects in some cases), but less physical damage than their unenchanted counterparts.

Note that magical Black Arrows can be reclaimed from defeated enemies, but enemies will NOT be able to fire them back at you.

If you're updating this mod mid-playthrough, make sure you unistall the previous version first, make a clean save, and then install the new version.
This is the safest way to update and should work without issue, but it's not 100% safe and can break your save, especially if you have lots of mods.
The safest option is to only update when starting a new game.
