A new version (v1.1.0) has been released. It addresses the following issues:
"Ride Dragon" no longer calls a Legendary dragon, but a levelled dragon. With Legendary dragons, depending on the level of the character, it was quite likely that "The dragon resisted your voice", resulting in an enemy Legendary dragon attacking you right away....
Dragons called via "Ride Dragon" are now removed from the game after they have flown away. Previously they were returning to the spot were they were called, thus potentially spamming Skyrim with new (Legendary!) dragons.
When calling Odahviing, there was an issue with Odahviing sometimes re-appearing for some time, after he already flew away. Now Odahviing will not return unless you call him again with "Call Dragon" or "Ride Odahviing".
The "Ride Durnehviir" shout will only become available after Durnehviir has taught all Words of the "Soul Tear" shout.
In the previous version there were some potential issues by calling Odahviing and Durnehviir a second time while they were still around the player. This is addressed.
Note on how to convert your savegames from v1.0.0 to v1.1.0:
It is recommended to remove v1.0.0 from your load order, then make a new save of your game, and then install v1.1.0 before proceeding your game with the new save and v1.1.0
The "Ride Odahviing" shout will only become available to you at the end of the main quest (ie after you talk to Odahviing on the Throat of the World). It will not be added to your shout inventory until you have reached that stage in the game.
(Same for "Ride Durnehviir" - it will only become available after you have learned "Summon Durnehviir")
What can I do if I finished the main quest but didn't talk to odahviing and now I install the mod? How can I trigger that event now? I can't go back because it was many hours ago
I keep getting this glitch where the dragons resist my voice, it started with Durnehviir which worked fine at first on my most recent playthrough, but when I finally got access to odahviing, which usually works better as opposed to durne' who constantly glitches, he also resists my voice, I uninstalled the mod, waited a day in game, and reinstalled the mod, and it still glitches out, I even tried giving myself bend will and going off to some random dragon and it's still bugging out. I think dragon riding is just ruined for that character now. Are there any console commands that can fix this or something or am I just doomed?
Either way, praying this doesn't break At The Summit for me.
I got constant "Dragon resist your breathe shout" as I shout ride dragon ,And durnehviir is glitching to me, I shout and then mount him ,he flies away but my character stands on the ground sitting like riding the dragon.
Note that the first three time when you call Durnehviir he will teach you the words for the "Soul Tear" shout. This will also happen when you call him with the "Ride Durnehviir" shout. Trying to ride him these first three times will likely fail, and might cause issues (I will prevent this to be possible in an updated version of "Ride Dragon Shouts"). After those first three calls, it should be possible to ride him. If not, I will need to further look into it.
Did you get the "Dragon resists your voice" message with "Ride Dragon" only, or also with the other two shouts? What happens then, are you being attacked by the dragon?
i ticked mod in the middle of gameplay when I had Durnehviir and all shouts
The dragon resist my voice even with dragonrend but when using dragonrend shout he resist and start to attack me. Only Odahviing works fine "ride odahviing"
So you have completed the Durnehviir quest (including Learning all words for Soul Tear) before you first tried "Ride Durnehviir"?
I could reproduce the glitching issue (player stands on the ground sitting like riding) when I tried to mount and then immediately unmounted again while Durnehviir had not started with his lift-off. Luckily I could fix it by pressing "Jump". Then I could move again. This actually seems to be a glitch in vanilla Skyrim, ie same thing happens when I mount a "Bend Willed" dragon.
Regarding the dragon resists your voice: I will post an update soon that will let you call a levelled dragon instead of a Legendary dragon when calling "Ride Dragon". The problem with the Legendary dragon indeed is that it has a relatively high probability of resisting (depending on the level of your character). A levelled dragon should fix this...
I could reproduce the glitching issue (player stands on the ground sitting like riding) when I tried to mount and then immediately unmounted again while Durnehviir had not started with his lift-off. Luckily I could fix it by "Wait" an hour (or two) until Durnehviir disappears. Then I could move again...
This actually is a bit different, I mount the Durnehviir, and normally sitting on him, he takes off but the player character still stands sitting on the ground. After I press "E" to land,Durnehviir lands normally while the player is still sitting on the ground and then he got of his back.
I see. I will have a closer look. I noticed in the video that at the same time as Durnehviir takes off (and your character stays sitting on the ground) the enemy indicator shows up in the top center for a second (with "Jervor" as target) - like when one presses "Jump" while riding the dragon. Did you do anything to trigger that, like pressing "Jump"?
BTW, in my case I can release the character from the sitting-on-ground position by pressing "Jump", not by "Wait" as I mentioned earlier.
Yes i did press attack by accident he didn't do this on his own I pressed "space DEFAULT" and again to remove so next I hit "E" to land like shown in the video
If I can suggest something like a power spell like the one from Philmorex to call him to land down so we could ride the dragon but without dialog just so he comes down and obey the order for the ride.
